Obama Poised to Sign Stimulus Into Law (Deficit to triple by the end of the day)
fox news ^ | 2/17/2009 | ap

President Barack Obama is ready to sign into law the most sweeping economic package in decades, a rescue plan meant to reinvigorate job creation, consumer spending and public optimism. Add the bill to an ever-growing deficit.

Capping the biggest victory of his month-old administration, Obama will sign the economic legislation Tuesday in Denver.

The setting, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, is meant to underscore the investments the new law will make in "green" energy-related jobs. It also allows Obama to get away from Washington, where the bill's passage was a mostly partisan affair, and be among people who may benefit from the huge government intervention.

The flailing economy continues to dominate Obama's time.

Tuesday is also when General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC, which are living off a combined $13.4 billion in federal bailout loans, are due to hand in plans to Obama's government about how they can remain viable.

It was the first thing they talked about on F&F this morning. Team Zero created panic to get it passed and now downplays it’s effect. Now they’re only expecting to regain 1% of the jobs lost and that isn’t going to happen for another 18 months. (after we lose another 5 or 10 million jobs.)

Tripling the country’s deficit. Not bad for a month’s work, Bambi.

Didn’t Obama say that deficits don’t matter?

Actually about two weeks work if you figure how much time he spends “getting out of the White House”.

No less an authority than FDR’s Treasury secretary and close friend, Henry Morganthau, conceded this fact to Congressional Democrats in May 1939: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong ... somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises ... I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started ... And an enormous debt to boot!”*

Obama is driving us toward “the worst economy since the Great Depression”.

I heard some economist claiming unemployment will hit 11% and the deficit under Obama will reach over $3 trillion.

And don’t forget... he still wants to give the UN theirs (along with our sovereignty), with the Global Poverty Act.

Unemployment in my county topped 11% two weeks ago. Meanwhile Zero is treating my governor (Jenny “the depressionator” Granholm) like some kind of financial wizard.

The worse things get the more Granholm wants to raise taxes. Smokers are going to love the latest. Taxes drove a lot of people to rolling their own at a fraction of the cost. Now taxes on a $20 bag of tobacco are going up by $25.

But now he will be able to change gears and focus on the Deficit.....he will probably come up with a new stimulus plan to pay down the deficit by borrowing money form his friends in the Middle East.

You would think the market masters would’ve noticed how the market tanked every time they spoke or bailed someone out. Don’t they realize we know Chuck and Reid started the runs on banks and insurance after their buddy made sure the $550 billion was pulled from MMAs? And where’s the damn hearings?

Don’t those jerks realize they not only screwed up our economy, but the world’s with their socialism? It’s not just our soldiers lives they’re playing with, it’s future generations.

For what, power? To say they fixed something?

No, they want proles and they want to be gods. For me but not for thee.

Same beast folks, different name.

Why do the main protagonists still sit on the hill and deem to hold forth...

The Soviers were right, one generation. Through their infiltration, they’ve had two.

They forgot to look at rising indicators, like guns and ammo. I forgot, those are next to go... if they can find them.

Who still has their will, who will write and speak on it, who will stand for this country and the blood spilled for this freedom?

Our supply routes are cut off in the Stan, crazy things all over the globe, Iran, North Korea, Russia/China buildup and sending of weapons to bad players, beheadings and honor killings right here in our country (and chaos at the border, part of where the ‘infrastructure’ funds should’ve gone), he wants to off our unborn while ignoring illegals since we’re ‘broke’, California the 8th largest economy finished, yet where is he? Flying around lying and still campaigning (to spread dispair for something done), while destroying our country... a two year old with a RISK game, bored with no clue. Spending like Atlas.

Well, as of today, this economy belongs, lock, stock and barrel to Mr. Obama.

He also voted for the so called Bail Out Bill back in the fall.

It’s all on his shoulders now. Not Mr. Bush’s.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the full cost of this bill, including its $348 billion debt service and the out-year financing, will reach $3.2 trillion http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/16/stimulus-package-flunked-test/

President Barack Obama's administration placed an eye-watering $2.3 trillion price tag on its plan to bail out the US banking system Friday, opening up what it called a second front in the battle to pull the country out of recession. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/wall-street-rescue-23-trillion--the-cost-of-us-bank-bailout-1606328.html

Projections for 2009 deficit range from Goldman Sachs's $1.43 trillion to $1.9 trillion from economic firm Strategas Research Partners. At 13.5% of GDP, a $1.9 trillion shortfall would more than double the peacetime record during Ronald Reagan's presidency, and approach the mark set in 1942 as the U.S. joined World War II.  And this is just the plain ole budget of NORMAL spending of the U.S. Government. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123457407865686565.html

That's 24,667 dollars for every man, woman and child in America.  Of course we all know that only 50% of Americans actually pay income taxes, therefore, the cost per household member of an actual taxpayer is $49,333.  For a family of four that's  nearly 200,000 USD per household.  So McCain's right about the "generational theft" thingy. But, you have to give Obama a bit of credit.  After all he's giving everyone $13 every two weeks in their paycheck.

It took Bush 8 years to add $4T to our national debt.  It only took Obama 4 weeks to add another $7.6 trillion.

Just think, if the courts would grow a set and require Hussein to prove where he was born, this bill signed could be voided.
