Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is not out of the woods on one pending legal matter involving his presidential campaign.
A federal district court in Los Angeles over the weekend declined to dismiss singer Jackson Browne's lawsuit against the senator and the Republican National Committee for the unauthorized use of his song "Running On Empty" in a political Web video.
Browne, an outspoken liberal, sued McCain, the RNC and the Ohio Republican Party for copyright infringement last August after the state party used his famous song in an online video promoting McCain's presidential candidacy.

Actually Browne played a big role in many of the Eagles hits from years ago not to mention a slew of great records himself.
It’s time for all Republicans to treat John McCain the way he treats conservatives, by defending the liberal scum that John so desperately wants to defend. So, in that spirit, I must say:
Jackson Brown is a wonderful American. For John to abuse his intellectual property this way is inexcusable. We will simply not be a part of the hate rhetoric that Mr. McCain chooses to display.
Just because he and the Eagles are bleeding hearts doesn’t mean they didn’t make great music in their time. Saying he is irrelevant now is like saying Sinatra is irrelevant now. It’s true, but irrelevant....lol

why not, “McCain scewed up and let this be a lesson to those who want to run a campaign”. Why does it have to be a defense of anyone? Why not just acknowledge the mistake and realize they screwed up?
I couldn’t tell you. I don’t follow him close enough to know. But, I’m sure it’s better than the crap I get in the radio these days. No story tellers anymore.
Big Deal. It’ll probably get ruled as fair use, lots of precedent, I’s guess this is more about Browne acting like the yappy little dog and showing his lib colors.
He ought to shut up and sing, but I don’t think he’s done anything in the last 30 years that anyone really cares to hear.
