Bobby Jindal's Response: Full Text
Hawaii Free Press ^ | 2-24-09 | Governor Bobby Jindal

Posted on 02/24/2009 9:05:11 PM PST by AndrewWalden

Jindal:

As I grew up, my mom and dad taught me the values that attracted them to this country -- and they instilled in me an immigrant's wonder at the greatness of America. As a child, I remember going to the grocery store with my dad. Growing up in India, he had seen extreme poverty. And as we walked through the aisles, looking at the endless variety on the shelves, he would tell me: 'Bobby, Americans can do anything.'

Obama:

...Dillon, South Carolina - a place where the ceilings leak, the paint peels off the walls, and they have to stop teaching six times a day because the train barrels by their classroom. She has been told that her school is hopeless, but the other day after class she went to the public library and typed up a letter to the people sitting in this room. She even asked her principal for the money to buy a stamp. The letter asks us for help...

What a perfect assessment! I sooooo agree with you. I could see Romney as President, as he has all these qualities, but too many don’t believe he’s conservative ENOUGH. Sad, but true.

Me too....problem is, our party has been more interested in power and getting votes, rather than STANDING FOR SOMETHING...OUR CONSERVATIVE ISSUES...they all but forgot about our party’s philosophy.

"We may be looking at our ticket in 2012. It will be nice to see how it shakes out. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to see them campaigning together, not even caring who got the top spot."

I think you are on to something about them campaigning together. They should be seen together starting now until election and they should assume acting as though they are the President and VP. Start showing leadership and tweak Obama's ego at the same time.

I say it was bad timing, and whoever it was that the RNC who thought making this Jindal’s “coming out party” should be fired, ASAP.

I am sure glad someone gets it.

In my heart of hearts, I believe someone is out there ready to stand up for true American values without regard to PC, the MSM, or Republican RINOs.

Someone that talks to conservatives first and foremost. Someone who can hold the pols feet to the fire until they grow a set and do what they are supposed to do. Not an elected official, current or former, not a radio talk show host, but a real leader without anything to gain personally.

Someone who is strong and demonstrates core values that are not subject to the latest fad or celebrity.

I hope he or possibly she stands up soon. We are in great need of a clear voice, and aggressive leadership.

I’m sure that giving an address in an empty room to a camera is hard. Few have been good at it. Jindal needs to improve here for sure.

But imagine him in the debates against Obama. Jindal is pretty good off the cuff. And, as we saw during the last hurricane, he can handle a crisis.

I just so happen to turn on the TV to see him speak. Maybe I listen to what is being said rather than how it’s being said, but I thought Jindahl did a great job.

I don’t see any of the current GOP crop as up to the task:

Romney: closet liberal with nice hair
Huckabee: Learned at the feet of Clinton, nuff said
Jindal: Mr. Rogers
Palin: Hot mama but not much else
Boehner: Let’s Make a Deal
McCain:Capt Queeg was less nuts

I could go on but I think you get the idea

The text is fabulous, spot on to erode the obama drone syndrome. But Bobby is not adept at delivering such a speech. I’m wondering whom it was that chose Bobby to deliver this first rebuttal to the marxist messiah? ... And of course, constitutionally Jindal can never be president anyway.

In Obama’s America, the American dream is over. Give up. Shackle yourself to the chains of Socialism. If you achieve, you will PAY.

Exactly again.

Which is why I think we need to change direction and quickly.

No elected official, or anyone on your list is going to stand up because they want to get reelected or elected again.

The next real conservative leader must no care if they ever get elected to anything.

Basically, the REAL problem with our country, is politicians. They are not there to “serve or service” the people. Politicians are there to enrich themselves, to get power, influence, and make money. They in congress are always playing a game. Real life, real issues, are not a game. They play a game with our very lives. People, SO STUPID, to get something for free, with the minimum of effort, are what they look too. If they can give them something for nothing, then they earn their votes. They play with our money like it is play money. They think that people who have worked hard all their lives and put in the maximum effort, and now have the house, cars, bank accounts to go along with that, have some how cheated those that are too damned lazy to work for it. It makes me sick to my stomach. Stinking politicians have caused the world more misery, caused more deaths, more harm, than any dictator in history. Hitler killed millions. Stalin killed millions more than Hitler and THOSE WERE HIS CITIZENS!! Two more politicians who have caused more harm. I trust no politician. I trust no one else with my life. I trust only Jesus and God. They are the only ones that have never lied to me. Politicians lie every second of every day of every week of every year of every decade. Thus, WHY believe them? Any of them?

Why can he not be president constitutionally? He was born in Louisiana. He’s 37. What other requirements am I missing?

I didn’t hear my Governor give his rebuttal, but I read it, and it’s dead-on!

Apparently, some think he has a communicating problem. Y’all did not hear him give his daily, sometimes twice-daily updates during the aftermath of Gustav.

He was and is a true leader and has everything under control.

You know it would have been pretty funny if they showed Jindal bringing out the columns, then yelling into the camera, “Thank you....thank you....thank you very much. Take a seat everybody. Have a seat. Thank you!”

I only saw the end of his speech, but I thought what I saw was good. It wasn’t raging, raw emotion as I’d like to have seen against the evil that is set upon destroying our country, but I have enough sense to know that won’t work in today’s political climate. Later? I believe so. Now? Americans are sick of the hate and want to hear nicey-nice; thus the sing-song voice.

The message was spot on. Bravo Gov Jindal!

All the press covearge will be geared to how “poorly” Jindal performed on the national stage, with no regard for what he actually said.

And, unfortunately, the same press will laud, praise and shout hosannas to the mountaintops Obama's speech and how he delivered it, "with no regard for what he actually said."

None of it matters; nice speech, but.......his hair’s all wrong and, well, you know............he’s not black and after all, we all know it’s all about.........the blacks.

Maybe Nagin would be more to the “people’s” liking if you could pay him enough to put on a Republican suit.
