Kansas City Tea Party - After Action Report
Free Republic ^ | 2/28/09 | Just another Joe

Posted on 02/28/2009 11:28:34 AM PST by Just another Joe

After arriving 1/2 hour late due to prior committments and incliment weather, I arrived just after the group had started their walk to Clair McCaskill's office.

I wandered behind the main group and caught up just as the crossed the main street.

With the temperature hovering around 20 degrees farenheit, snow on the ground 3 to 4 inches deep, and more snow blowing on the wind we made our way to the Plaza/Westport office of Clair McCaskill.

It appeared that there were approximately 200 people gathered to protest PORKULUS.

As chants rose on the wind Blind Mule stepped forth and began reading letters he had received from various politicians regarding the "stimulus bill" passed by Congress.
Most of the responses from politicians were of the nature that the bill had to pass to save the country.
One letter in particular, from Sam Graves, received an enormous response from the crowd as Mr. Graves was thanking us for gathering.

As the event wore down people started drifting back toward the Plaza.

Afterward, there were several people that gathered on a corner and kept the event going, even in a small way, for awhile.

Eventually it was just too cold and snowy to remain and I made my way home to post this thread.

Enjoy the pictures in the thread below.

Some kept the event going for a while even after leaving McCaskill's office.

As we were leaving the event I was walking behind this couple.
It makes me feel good to realize that some of the younger generation know what's going on.

Sure is.
It wasn't pleasant but, as usual, it was fun.

Wow! I’m so proud of my fellow Missourians. I had to work yesterday but I sure won’t the next one. Hope you send the photos to Claire.

THIS is the kind of protest that SHOULD have occurred in Springfield.

Granted there aren’t legislative offices around but this was visible to the public.

Instead they huddled at the lake. Big Whoop.

It was a good turn out, considering how cold it was. About 190 people by real world estimate; 2000 by lib math. If it was warm and dry, I’d wager over 1000 would have been there

My 15 year old was really impressed. Typical 15 year old boy; checked out the cute conservative chicks :-) It was his first political event. He understands that he has a big responsibility to become educated and active, since he will be voting in the next presidential election.

Kudos to all the patriots that showed up.

Did anyone catch the Lib chick engaging one of us after things broke up? The only comment my son had about her was, “did she sound wasted???”

PS, time for an FR attention whore moment. That’s me with the $1.75 Trillion sign:-)

I am glad to see the “I” word showing up more and more. We must take back the House in 2010 to have a chance at impeaching him and stopping this destruction of America. The is horrendously worse than what the lefties wanted to IMPEACH GWB for.
