545 PEOPLE By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

Re-election is MORE important to congress than their own country, state, or district.

Why doesn’t the number of HR reps grow proportionally with census data?
Are you joking?
We, meaning america ,demand endless handouts. That is why both McCain and Obama played Santa during election campaign. That is why Obama won. Even those few that still think Iraq invasion was a great idea didnt want to pay higher taxes to pay for it.
Don’t forget your pitchforks and torches.
pitchforks, torches
tar and feathers
546 rails
for those who
think they’re our “betters”
Very few ever get voted out of office, because the people like all the pork their OWN politicians bring home. They want everybody else’s bum to be thrown out but not their own. And of course, they only vote for their own. The politicians know this. So voting them out doesn’t appear to be an option. On to Plan B.
The American people are being bankrupted by our own government and I’m afraid that nothing short of bloodshed will stop this criminal activity.
“1 over 50,000. This is approximately the proportion of representatives to counted citizens (ex 2/5 slaves, Indians not taxed, etc.) according to the 1800 census numbers. In other words, in the Congress of 1800, congressional districts were about 50,000 strong...”

Don't include me in that "We". Anyone who has read any of my posts from the past knows that I believe that everyone should tow their own weight in this economy and, with few exceptions, if they don't, they can simply disappear as far as I'm concerned.
But in one of his little infomercials, I vaguely recall Perot making a statement about “We The People” going to Washington with ropes and 2x4’s and I liked that.
Those in Washington will never do the right things until they fear the lynch mobs at home. Plain and simple.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! Soros, is that you?
The question is not how government works, but how to make it stop.
You want more of them?
Correct.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.
But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to be feared."
-- Marcus Tullius Cicero
Cleaning up the mess made by the 545 is like washing a turd. You aren't getting rid of the stench until it is allllll gone.
Voting for an incumbent should get you 6 months and a $5,000 fine - oh, wait...voting for an incumbent DOES get you 6 month working just to pay taxes and $5,000 less in net worth.
