Actually Dr. Crowley (doctorate in International relations) worked at FOX as a foreign affairs and political analyst and has been replacing conservative Tony Blankly on the Mclaughlin Group.
Jonathan Hoenig is a financial contributor to FOX and the Wall Street Journal and Neil Cavuto among other things, but I get your point, they sure aren’t David Frum.
What other conservatives might be critical of Canada for their lack of will and responsibility in regards to their military?

The fact is, Obama wants to see our military in the same condition as Canada’s military. That will leave the continent completely unprotected.
Obama knows that we cannot have both a stong military and socialized medicine and he intends for Canada and Europe to start carrying their own weight. The US can no longer be depended upon to be the world’s sheriff. The UN will be filling that position.

Not only is it inappropriate and grossly insulting to produce a “sequence of goofs about the feebleness, uselessness and absurdity of the Canadian Armed Forces,” but it’s doubly gauling to do so in a time of war, when so many brave Canadians have given their lives in Afghanistan for an attack that was made on the United States. “Proportionately the CAF has suffered the highest number of fatalities of any of the foreign forces occupying Afghanistan.” They deserve our high praise and gratitude, not our blatant disrespect. This insults our allies and gives all Americans a bad name...shame on Gutfield...totally classless.

I am a former naval officer/Vietnam vet who served a year in-country [I Corps] including during the Tet offensive and another 8 months off the coast on the USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2). I am also a retired FSO who served in Tehran during the first time we were overrun on February 14, 1979 and I served five years in Saudi Arabia during the entire period of the Gulf War. What did you do during the Vietnam war, a**hole?
The Canadian armed forces have become a joke. The land forces want to take a year off from operational duties. Canada is spending only 1.1% of its GDP on defense. And you want to defend that?
