Former CNN Anchor Moves to The Onion
New York Times ^ | March 25, 2009 | Robert Mackey

In yet another sign that the line between real news and fake news is getting thinner, one of CNN’s main anchors during the 1980s and 1990s, Bobbie Battista, has taken a step through the looking glass and can now be seen anchoring reports online for ONN, The Onion News Network.

In the report below, “Prague’s Franz Kafka International Named World’s Most Alienating Airport,” Ms. Battista reports the fictional news with the same aplomb she brought to the real thing during her 20-year career at CNN:

In a recent interview with the blog CNN Observations, Ms. Battista said she enjoyed the fake reports, though she admitted: “I wasn’t sure I should do them at first.”

the line between real news and fake news is getting thinner

Irony of ironies - this is published in the NYT, where they print "all the news that fits" (the liberal template), and facts never enter into the picture.

I used to watch her on the local WRAL channel before she went to CNN. I wonder if she’s still crosseyed?

I remember her too back in those days. I’m pretty sure she had surgery which is commonly done to fix strabismus. I remember years ago (’90’s) noticing that her gaze seemed more-or-less normal

Yeah, those eyes freaked me out, that the only reason I remember her. Sorry for her if it's some medical condition of sorts.

Have you seen the ONN piece on the new Sony device? It’s on Youtube but I’m not going to post a link ‘cause it will get me banned. VERY bad language and VERY funny. Do a search on Sony at Youtube.

Bobbie Baptista used to try to DESTROY Sean Hannity when she had that afternoon CNN show and SEAN was on the radio in Atlanta. He was a guest, although he would sit on a stool TENS of FEET AWAY from her like he had been a bad boy. This was before Sean was national. I loved his demeanor.

Are you kidding? She’s been doing fake reports for decades. Onion calls it satire. CNN calls it headlines.

I always thought Bobbie had moments of attractiveness, but Lynne Russell, she was in the smokin’ hot zone.
