Italian authorities carry out raids against "Islamist radicals" across country
SNIPPET: "Rome, 2 April (AKI) - Twenty-six foreigners suspected of links to international terrorism as well as aiding and abetting illegal immigration are being investigated by Italian police, after raids carried out on Thursday in various Italian cities.
The raids were carried out in properties around the northern cities of Vicenza, Venice, Padova, Brescia, Como, Cuneo and Trento, the central city of Florence and the southern city of Caserta.
The anti-terrorism and organised crime investigators in March 2007 began probing alleged Islamic fundamentalists attending the Via Dei Mille mosque in Vicenza in the northern Veneto region.
The mosque was led by a Yemeni imam, who is also being investigated for terror links.
However, most of the 26 foreigners arrested are Algerian.
Three of them, who lived in Naples, are though to be Islamist radicals sympathetic to the radical 'Takfiri' ideology.
The three radicals had already been involved in falsifying documents to aid jihadist groups.

I wonder how the jihadists will feel in an Italian court - looking up at the Christian cross over the judge.

unfortunately, the powers in this country no longer believe there is such as thing as radical Islam and we are certainly not fighting a war on terror. This head in the sand attitude could very well lead to a second 911.
Notice, they are all up north, just like the Red Brigades. Down south the Mafia does not like groups of this nature because they draw federal police attention. No announcements or anything they just quietly disappear when they attempt to operate south of Rome.
Islamic jihadist espouse ideas that most people in America today consider radical and threatening to our safety and way of life. It’s not a far-fetched leap though (and in no small way troubling) to imagine an American society soon where people espousing ideas like the right to life, right to bear arms, lower taxes, and a host of others associated with Judeo-Christian value-centered conservativism are considered radical and threatening to making America stronger and more secure as defined by the neo-Marxists now in office. For example, losing 41-56 last night was Senator Coburn’s (R-Okla.) proposed legislation to protect rights of doctors not to perform abortions against their conscience. This will now force the issue for many principled physician and hospitals across the country. Another example is the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision last June striking down DC’s handgun ban. Think about that: we’re one vote away from the opposite result in the next gun case (and don’t think for a minute that stare decisis will preserve the prior ruling). Conservatives as radicals, I mean genuine radicals on par with Islamic jihadists, sounds crazy perhaps, I realize, (and some people may think we’re already there) but I’m just saying . . .
Cheers!

the Pres_ent bowed to one of them yesterday.
It’s okay when you’re a five point bloomer. “For the LORD had ordained to thwart the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the LORD might bring calamity on Absalom.” (NASV) No plans to strangle myself either. Best, A
Now if only Obama, the French and British would do the same type of raids. Oh those mosques would be humming with all those good American Muslims!
I’m often concerned. Some locals in our North have approved the use of loud speakers for the Islamic call to prayer. We still have cities that (for all practical purposes) ban self defense.
As much damage as President Obama has already done his supporters still look up to him as savior.
One of my favorite bartenders got a bit angry today. Several of us were commenting on what he’s already done to this country - I mentioned how he bitched about President Bush’s 180 Billion dollar deficit, then with only 2 months in office has jacked it to an unbelievable 2 or 3 TRILLION dollars. She told us it was Bush’s fault and told us not to talk politics!
But...but...it would be called religious discrimination if churches weren’t also raided!
"This thing of ours, it is a secret society."
