End "Corrective" Rape of Lesbians in South Africa
Modern Ghana News ^ | april 3, 2009 | By Uzima Collective

ccording to Action Aid, Cape Town support groups report about 10 corrective rape cases a week. Corrective rape is where men are raping lesbians in hopes to cure them of their sexual orientation. Most of these brutal attacks are being reported from towns like Johannesburg and Cape Town, where the rape crime is immensely high. Despite these massive reporting, victims cries for help still seem to fall on deaf ears. Statics show that 24 out of every 25 reported men walk free due to the fact that the African government does not recognize hate crimes as a crime. It is because of issues like these that Africa has turned into the rape capital of the world, where a quarter of all women are being raped by the age of 16.

It is sick that "corrective" rape is being used to "cure" lesbian women of their sexual orientation. Where is the outrage from Zero, Michelle, Madonna, Rosie, Whoopie, Oprah and the rest of the lefty's?

There are also women who are infected with HIV and AIDS, going around and raping men in Africa, I guess as a means of getting back at them.

All it’s really doing is increasing the cases of HIV and AIDS.

Usual lefty suspects ginning up the “hate crime” rhetoric about a whole land that is lousy with rapes of all sorts, including infant rapes (by superstition they are thought to rid the rapist of the AIDS virus).

So rape is legal in South Africa? Just more leftist propaganda. The soft Marxism of the ANC has turned the country into the crime capital of the world; creating a new rubric for naming crimes won't fix any of the underlying problems.

Rape is an atrocious act of violence. These men are beyond reproach. I believe people are born gay or straight, the end. Therapy, coercion or, God forbid, rape will not change the outcome of someone's sexual orientation, period.

I am stating my opinion and will not debate religious dogma as it would be futile.

I believe people aren’t “born that way,” but I agree with you that rape isn’t going to “cure” anything. All it will do is make these women hate men, if they don’t already.

Growing up, many years ago, there was a family friend who was gay. (It was explained to me later.) She grew up in a convent in Europe (I won’t say where - too many details), and during WWII, soldiers passing through broke into the convent and raped the nuns there. It left a terrible impression of men on a young girl. (I’m not sure if she was raped herself.)

Now that is *really strange*. I didn’t realize that “rape” was legal in South Africa and that the only way they can convict men like this is by having a “hate crime law”...

Hmmmm....

Just about everyone who took time to be as accurate as they could, from St. Paul to Freud to modern atheist psychologists dragged kicking and screaming by the facts, disagrees with you about the flexibility of sexual desire.

They don’t really care especially when it is in places with no cameras to video tape them caring.

I will not argue that there may be some women or men who were abused or raped who turn to homosexuality in order to “protect” themselves from the abuse of one sex (male or female). I am not a professional psychologist, M.D., etc, however, I truly believe this is a genetic issue and few are gay as a result of abuse.

More than likely, many people who are abused tend to be attracted to abusive people until they can heal. My two cents, fwiw.

Darling you are wrong about sexual orientation but you have a right to be. I will agree that there is nothing corrective about rape, it is wrong regardless of sexual proclivities or peculiarities.

You may want to visit this and un-brainwash your mind a little.

Africa has turned into the rape capital of the world, where a quarter of all women are being raped by the age of 16.

A woman of color in our church wrote a doctoral dissertation on the "struggles" for "liberation" experienced by women of color in the Republic of South Africa. I politely asked her if she thought they felt "liberated," now that the RSA had become the abortion and rape capital of the world. She didn't know ...

Rapes, murders, and violent crimes of all flavors have skyrocketed, but hey, now the RSA can play in international games, abortion and sodomy are legal, and the communists run things. Ain't liberation wonderful?

(Disclaimer: I taught myself Afrikaans a few decades ago as a Quixotic gesture of solidarity with the older order!)

If the “correcters” got what they would get in a US prison for doing this, would they also switch orientations?

I’ve known several “homosexuals” as well as some variants.

The two young lesbians that I new were very troubled, chasing straight girls, going through depression, one had been molested the other wanted to have sex reassignment surgery but was actively pretending to be a guy.

The men I’ve known fall into two categories. One was molested by his uncle who was also a town arsonist and also gay. The other had a learning disability and could not read or write. I know that isn’t the general case but it was pretty clear that his situation was incidental.

A girl friend of mine had a sister who was bisexual. I had no idea nor cared. I didn’t know the other lady she was living with was sleeping with her. It was a case of incidental lesbianism though, the parents had left the older sister with the kids while she was still in high school and she needed someone to help her.

The one thing that I’ve seen is that homosexuality is not a clear cut thing as gay activists wish it to be and even if it were it would not make it correct. What is unfortunate is that there are many cases of molestation and abuse where it plays a key factor in the development of homosexual desires. These people will never receive the care they need if the activists have their way.

I believe you’re wrong, I think it could be something that’s very difficult and complicated to turn around, but I do wish you well.
