However, we can provide our own summary of the general gist of the article which is that one of the pirates has claimed both sides have agreed to a prisoner exchange -- our captain for four of their outlaws. The article goes on to warn that as of right now, this is by no means a done deal.

Dangerous precedent making deals with terrorists. It might be cold, but it would be better to lose one person and take out all the pirates with him than to make deals. They now have the incentive to keep taking hostages.

I wonder if the captain and his family would agree with you on that. There's no rush on this. Wait the bastards out and get the captain back without ransom. Hell, a couple more days of bouncing around in that boat and we could probably get them to give back the captain and pay a fine as well.
