April 15th.
Write that date down; people - it could very well mark the beginning of the end. With the notoriously conservative Tea Party movement gaining steam, is it time to take the United out of United States?
An off-the-cuff and seemingly harmless comment from CNBC drone Rick Santelli- who called for a Chicago Tea Party in response to Obamas handling of the worsening economic situation- has now developed into a full-blown national movement.
On April 15th, hundreds of thousands of POd red meat eatin Americans will converge on the streets to protest the Obama administrations policies and platforms. Over 360 cities nationwide have been confirmed as protest staging points, and conservative luminaries like Newt Gingrich and Sean Rough Rider Hannity will lend their considerable girth and celebrity to ensure a sense of bloated spectacle.
The Tea (Taxed Enough Already) Party-people consider themselves a coherent and diverse network of Americans from every conceivable walk of life. They are cultural warriors fighting against the tax-happy, spend-happy ways of the evil Obama cabal, real American patriots, and staunch defenders against the creeping evils of Socialism.
In reality, their movement is incredibly divisive, a mindset that stands in sharp contrast to Obamas calls for bipartisanship in this time of great national need. Their arguments have the potential to divide the country along titanic lines not seen since the bloody days of the Civil War.
Think Im exaggerating here? The Tea Party movement is an incredibly dangerous concept, fuelled by the usual gushes of sycophantic support from the conservative news media (heres looking at you, Fox). Consider a recent poll posted on Sean Hannitys website, asking his loyal followers if they thought America was ripe for revolution. Or perhaps youve heard some of the vitriolic treasonous crap spewing forth from the mouth of Foxs resident white-haired lunatic, He Who Shall Go Unnamed. You can tune in to his show practically any day of the week for an (increasingly) thinly veiled call to arms against the President and his evil liberal cronies.
The Tea Party Movement is basically a flag for Republicans disenfranchised by last years election results to rally behind. Give it up, guys. You lost fair and square. Obama and his policies have the mandate of the people- unlike a certain Bush I could mention.
If the country continues down this dark path, a second Civil War might not just be a cool idea for a sci-fi novel anymore. Can you imagine the potential for chaos if some of these protesters decide to exercise the Second Amendment and bring their weapons to these rallies? Theres a thin line between peaceful protest and bloodthirsty patriotic fervor, especially if those protesting are used to being on the side of the mighty status quo.
I hope April 15th comes and goes without major incident. And I hope the protesters fail in their mission to bring their message to a national audience. Its a message of fear, prejudice and, quite frankly, hate.
President Obama was elected democratically, according to the doctrines set forth by the Founding Fathers. The Tea Party movement represents a real danger to the tenets of democracy Americans have embraced for centuries.
There are now only 1351 days left until the End of the World.
What a moonbat!
We have decided it's time to take the country back.
The only problem is that it will probably get co-opted.
Wyatt Shev, from Sydney, Australia. His bio lists him as an unabashed atheist.
that’s right, if wyatt’s side could just rid us of a few pesky amendmends in that archaic ‘ol Constitution just think how perfect things would be...
Did you intentionally leave out homophobic or is that included in hate? Prejudice is just a 9 letter word for racist of course.
Their fear is not unwarranted.
THIS is my revolution: 40 seats to Take Back the House in 2010.
40 Seats to Take Back the House.
My personal revolution: ONE.
Nope, it is the MSM's(the media arm of the Demwit party)attempt to make us stop the tea parties by making us feel "unpatriotic" for having these protests. It is fine to protest, and patriotic also, if you are a left wing libtard, but if you are conservative you aren't allowed.
Regardless of whether Bozo was elected legally or not, and I don't think he was, we are allowed, under the constitution, to protest his, and the legislature's,actions.
Taking this guy's premise as gospel, then Bush should never have had one protest in his 8 years of office because he won according to the tenets of the constitution, right?
I don't recall him being protest free.
The more these people scream about the tea parties the bigger they should get.
The MSM didn't mention them at all at first hoping they would die out, now they are in a panic mode that they are gaining so much steam.
Actually, you’d be wise to check with Leo’s before carrying your “little friend” with you. Here in Alabama even with a permit you cannot take your ‘companion’ to any outside gathering like a parade / potest.
Would hate to hear you got locked up for it.
But we were told for the past 8 years that dissent was patriotic. The author of the article is such a hypocrite.
I agree
Agitation about his natural birth ( or even citizenship) status has Saul Alinsky value.
The birth issue keeps pressure on Obama. It is a distraction for him. It burns up some of his money (even if that money comes from donations. And...It adds to his aura of incompetence and illegitimacy.
But...I think you are right. It likely will not get anywhere.
I had the same thoughts. It is only divisive if conservatives object to liberal laws and taxes.
What? tell me you're kidding
Nope. am dead serious.
