If anyone doesn't know what they really are before taking this phony survey then OK be what they call you.

I know which I am and also I know that the Republican Party needs to find a real conservative soon.

The Nolan Chart has always been a Libertarian device, and it works because most folks do value their freedom. So when they take the various quizzes they most often land well into one of the upper quarters.

I'm guessing from your comment you were in the top right quarter? Me too. And it's fine to disapprove, be offended by or sometimes even judgmental about what other folks do, and societal pressure is useful in pushing back against things like drug abuse, which are almost universally thought to be not good. But whatever the ill, imperfection is the rule and there will always be remainders.

How is that War on Drugs thing going?

I am for personal liberty, American jobs, and the Constitution, so no party represents my views.

Ha! Ain't that the truth?

Your answers suggest that you are a libertarian. The yellow star shows more precisely where you fall within the libertarian region of the Nolan chart.

I don’t like choices on gay marriage.

Came out libertarian.

Huh. It thinks I’m a libertarian.

One question about legalizing drugs would have fixed that.

So you're looking for a question you could get wrong? :)

I'm afraid I am now a Libertarian - I was a conservative when I woke up this morning.

Same place I fell on the chart.

Don't sweat it. Most folks are libertarians if they think about it (or think at all, really) with only a few choice issues as exceptions.

Not specifically. ;-)

It's just that the drug issue seems to be the stumbling block for most folks. I find it interesting that the question was not there, and I'm sure it was deliberate.

I came out where you did the first time through.

Then, just for fun, I hit the back button and selected the second best response for each question. That moved the star to about where the s in 'conservative' is.

If you'd like to try the survey with the answer key showing, copy this JavaScript code to the clipboard, go to the page, paste the code into the browser's address window, and hit return.

javascript:var tr = document.getElementsByTagName('TR');
for(var x=9;x<19;++x) {
  tr[x].innerHTML = tr[x].innerHTML.replace(/(<input.+?id="(.+?)".+?>)/g, "$1 [$2]");
};
void 0
(Works in Firefox. Don't know about others.)

Am I the only damned centrist on this site? I should leave Free Republic...only problem is, ever since that blue dress back in the 90’s, I’ve grown to love you people. Shucks.

Surfing FR is sometimes like driving by a car wreck. Try as you might to look away, you end up staring.

Not me. 98% with Avigdor. This "poll" had too many forced answers. How about, "government should be bound by the Constitution; People should be bound by G-d."

Your answers suggest that you are a libertarian.

I will point out it is only a suggestion - no party completely represents my opinions.

I want the government that was described by our dear Founding Fathers (NOT “The Founders”) in their documents.

I also want to win the lottery :)

I’m a conservative again.

It is a stupid test, they should have included some of these.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political borders”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising drugs, prostitution, pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.
