Tea Party Total Head Count Thread (Post Your Attendance Numbers Here)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:08:47 PM PDT by kristinn

I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.

I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Please give the location and number of participants.

I'll go first:

Melbourne, FL - 1000.

TEA PARTY IN ODESSA, TEXAS

The coordinator said that there were 500 people registered for the event. I think everyone was as angry at our Senators for taking part of the give-away as they are at Zero for passing the bailout. I don't blame the folks who are angry. The Senators' integrity has been compromised by this.

Are you including both locations in that count; the four corners of N. California and Ygnacio Valley PLUS the folks at the intersection of Broadway and Ygnacio?

Did anyone else see these points, or even this flier from your allegedly local moonbats?

Yes. Here in this tiny CO mtn town we had one moonbat come with a small homemade sign that said "WHERE WERE YOU THE LAST EIGHT YEARS?"

My thought was "Where are you now? The past is over, done, gone, can't be changed. The rest of us are here to do something NOW!"

But it (the moonbat POV) is bogus anyway. They didn't care about taxes or spending or big government the last eight years, the last sixteen years or the last forty years.

Marquette, Michigan had two.. one at noon which had about 100 and one at 5:30 which I couldn’t attend because of work.

According to TV6 (WLUC) the one in Houghton, Michigan drew about 250.

Belton, Texas was great. The announced crowd was 2,000. Not sure it was that big but it was much larger than I anticipated.

Yeah that includes both locations.... a counter wandered around counting people on corners. Not saying how accurate he was as people were amovin’....but that’s the count he had on the low end.

You are missing a whole lot of them and who needs them to be televised? In CA there was one in Van Nuys, Santa Clarita, Burbank, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, and Simi Valley where Reagan is. Just places I live close enough to pop in. Some have food and stuff. And then you have little ones put together by friends.

The last report I heard at the Fresno/Central Valley Tea Party was that the count on their sign up sheet tally exceeded their goal of 5,000 attendees. And people were still arriving. And not everyone signed in. My guess is that we may have had more than 6,000 total. It was a great rally!

It is estimated 3,000 at the Overland Park, KS Tea Party.

I heard on the radio tonight that as many as 7,500 were estimated at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, MO.

My guess was around 1000 or so.

The Times Free Press estimates around 2000 in Chattanooga. Interestingly, the reader comments about the event are already leaning hard-left. Apparently, the spineless twits taht were too afraid to show up at the Tea Party are now posting caustic remarks behind the curtain of "anonymous user". Wimps!

Good evening lovely lady. What an interesting day here in the land of the free and home of the brave. Try as they may, even the lamestream media can't ignore the numbers.

Oh, did you know that you and I are right wing terrorists? According to Janet Reno Napalotano we are. Seems like the more things change, the more they remain the same. I do wonder where the next Waco, or Ruby Ridge will be. I'm sure they will come after FR again. History does repeat itself.

See you soon.

Franklin, TN about 3000! We are a tiny town, and the crowd way over extended the sound system.

I was there too (standing on a wall with a Navy Jack). I think 700 is a stretch. I estimated 400 or so at the peak at 12:30, which is pretty good considering (a) 42 degree weather with pelting rain, (b) the deep blue politics of the city, and (c)the Saturday event that’s being promoted by local talk radio.

Vero Beach, Florida, estimated to be about 2,000 people. Rep. Bill Posey (R) spoke to an enthusiastic crowd.

On the bright side, KYW1060 had a really balanced, fair report on the event. Hadas Kuznitz (?) reported that people were fired up, that it wasn’t a partisan event, and that people who attended were not protesting paying taxes as much as the profligate spending of tax dollars.
