Tea Party Total Head Count Thread (Post Your Attendance Numbers Here)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:08:47 PM PDT by kristinn

I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.

I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Please give the location and number of participants.

I'll go first:

Melbourne, FL - 1000.

After the Texas Tea Party I went to the Post office and sent the IRS a check for $5128. We’ll be waiting for the thank you note. ;o)

Re: “After the SF Rally groups apparently went to exit ramps to demonstrate locally. I saw a group as I took the Tiburon exit to pick up my kids from horse camp. Hoping the make up for my lack of participation in SF, I asked the kids do you want to stop and help out for a while? They said yes, so out we went and the five of us joined the five of them. It was a very positive experience and I am glad to have been a small part of it.”

********

Not too small at all!!! Good for you, and good for your kids, for participating! It would be great to see groups of people like you out there around every corner — away from the organized protests. If everyone did what you did the numbers of participants nationwide would be far higher!

Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland Oregon had anywhere from 1000 to 5000 depending on which media outlet you believe.

Hi there kiddo....My husband and I were in Sacramento for the Tea Party and when I asked one of the policemen how many he figured were there, he told us 6,000+. I think 13,000 to 25,000 is way out of line. Neil Cavuto and Michelle Malkin were there, so think I’ll go on their sites to see what they to say the numbers were...if they even do say. I think 25k is highly exaggerated though.

Where did you arrive at the figures of 13K to 15K in attendance for Sacramento? Just curious....when I asked one of the PD...he told my husband and me....6,000+.

All the speakers, singers and their messages were great, and it was a really peaceful event with a lot of ernest people participating. My husband took off work to go and we had some great thought exchanges with others. It was great to see Lloyd and Mary Marcus there and to visit with them again.

You might want to adjust the attendance for Sacramento event. My hubby and I were there and when we asked one of the policemen, he told us 6,000+. They are pretty used to being the crowd watchers there and can size things up pretty well. At any rate it was a good deal more than our first ‘Tea Party’ there in February’09. There were only about 200 there then.

Todays speakers were GREAT and so were the singers.....they all delivered great messages. It was good to have Neil Cavuto, Michelle M, and Lloyd Marcus there just to name a few. All in All it was a Great Day!!! It was a privilege to be there!

25K is a bit high I think for just the downtown crowd; perhaps they are counting Sacramento as a region? (some suburban towns around the city were also having their own parties)

I have someone on another thread helping me with posting some crowd shots of the downtown event which may help with the guestimating (I’m absolutely a dunce with the process) - so, hopefully they will turn up here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2229870/posts

OTOH, if it twists the jaw of some leftie to imagine 25K conservatives peacefully (gasp) assembled at the capitol steps with nary an incident, I’ll take the 25K number gladly!!

best regards, blu

Hey guys...

It's past 2AM, and I'm giving it up for the day. My estimate for the total US count is slipping due to small town counts that drag the total number down.

Current calculations have national participation at 4,733,606 - but, that is based on figures from only 15 percent of the planned 2049(?) locations.

More late tomorrow...

I said, "Lisbon, Ohio, about 200.

"Yes, small potatoes, but no oak-tree seeds, and lots of patriotism."

Oops! Got an email from "Duke Bennett and everyone with Ohio Valley TEA Party" saying that the attendance was 500. Sorry for the gross underestimation.

They had a parchment petition that everyone signed, so they have it documented.

Oh gee kristinn I don't know...

..I didn't arrive till 11ish (the hours were 8-noon)....

..some folks were leaving, but others were arriving.

A guess....100.

Everyone seemed friendly....giving their signs away to the new arrivals.

There were many creative costumes, signs, etc.

And the intersection of school board, government center was perfect!!

Many cars pass through there that time of morning and many many blew horns in appreciation!...thumbs up!

“Vero Beach, Florida, estimated to be about 2,000 people.”

The morning paper upped this number to 3,500 people were at the Vero Beach rally.
