It wasn't really a surprise that President Obama sided with leftist lawyers in his Justice Department and released, over the objections of the intelligence community, four Office of Legal Counsel memos that concluded certain interrogation techniques used in the last several years by CIA officers on certain al Qaeda terrorists were legal. Nor was it a surprise that the presidential statement put out by the White House was a medley of preening self-righteousness and defensive disingenuousness.
What was more interesting was the accompanying statement by the Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, trying to justify Obama's decision--or at least put it "into perspective." The perspective, the context, is that in the months after 9/11, "we did not have a clear understanding of the enemy we were dealing with, and our every effort was focused on preventing further attacks that would kill more Americans. It was during these months that the CIA was struggling to obtain critical information from captured al Qaida leaders, and requested permission to use harsher interrogation methods. The OLC memos make clear that senior legal officials judged the harsher methods to be legal."
Blair continues: "Those methods, read on a bright, sunny, safe day in April 2009, appear graphic and disturbing. As the President has made clear, and as both CIA Director Panetta and I have stated, we will not use those techniques in the future. But we will absolutely defend those who relied on these memos and those guidelines."
So: We were once in danger. Now we live in "a bright, sunny, safe day in April 2009." Now, in April 2009, Obama's Director of National Intelligence seems to be saying, we're safe.

Obama is telling radical Islam we do not have THE WILL to fight them. Radical Islam has been emboldened and legitimized.
If he wants to be FDR, he needs a war too. One of his own. This is assuming they know exactly what they are doing.
The west is still Christian and we're not going to allow the jihad to take us over. When the idiots realize what's happening, they'll join us in hating al'Obama. Of course some of the idiots will still be walking around pasted to their iPods and cell phones, and won't notice. They're already solidly in the jihad camp without realizing it. They can stay there. But some won't want to.
A neighbor of mine, glued day and nite to her "social networking sites" went to a Zero rally prior to the election and swooned ever after every time she saw him. UNTIL I showed her the photo of al'0bama bowing to king Saud. That brought her around immediately. She has kids in the service, so she's particularly furious, not just with 0bama but with herself. So there's hope. REally there is. This IS America, after all, no matter how Zero and his wife, Dominatrix, try to change it.

You are correct but go a couple of layers deep. The Ottoman Empire was the last global Islamic directly - Now Islam is fodder and a puppet of the East and yes, that does include the Middle East but also China and Russia. This government will collapse and America will form as a new Republic. The real problem is when America defaults on the debt, global warfare is the result. Our new handlers in the East will fire a massive warning shot across our bow in the form of nuclear terrorism to continue servicing the debts (at least $8 Trillion was recently and artificially created by the Federal Reserve but this requires Presidential approval). The good news is we will prevail. The bad news is one of three of us will leave the earth prematurely. The events span a period of roughly 13 years from 2008 or 2021.

There are two nations at war with us - Saudi Arabia/Yemen and Pakistan. We are not at war with them, and we have not been since 9/11/01.
This is what being at war means: "... the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war against {fill in the blank]; and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all of the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States."
Being at war occurs when the representatives of the People direct the President, in his capacity as Commander in Chief of the Army and the Navy to act, and when they pledge all the resources of the country to victory. That's what "being at war" means.
We were never at war after 9/11. If Bush had asked for war against Saudi/Yemen and Pakistan after 9/11, he would have gotten it, but then he would have had to fight it, which he was clearly unwilling to do.
