Katherine Hepburn accepted Christ? I have heard that Rock Hudson made a deathbed confession.

I'm sorry. I didn't wish to be misleading. I simply meant to say I prayed for her hoping that she would. As far as I know, it didn't happen.

Oh, ok. I didn’t think she had either. Shame. I often pray for the salvation of celebrities and for the strength and positive witness of those who are already Christians (Alice Cooper, Stevie Baldwin, Brian Welsh of Korn, etc.).

It is too easy for those in the media spotlight to consider themselves gods.

The Lord declared that the thief on the cross would be with Him in Paradise for merely recognizing his own mortal guilt and Christ’s devine innocence. This wretch’s one act of contrition, at the last possible moment no less, has probably yielded more souls saved than all the Baptist sermons ever preached! It is not the quanity of your repentance but the quality!

Alice Cooper???

Yes indeed, THE Alice Cooper himself professes Jesus Christ as his Saviour.

This is a pretty good article:

It is extra difficult for most scientists to believe in God. They are trained to be skeptical and to think in natural, empirical terms. It’s hard enough for a physicist to get to pantheism let alone a personal deity of ancient renown.

I still don’t know what it would take to make a hardened skeptic believe.

Hawkings is a prime example of selfless dedication to science and human progress. He could have easily gone to Switzerland to commit suicide. Instead, he became one of the most influential mathematicians and science authors in the world.

This guy deserves prayers for a few more years of life.

Welcome. That one’s a keeper for me also, as I am SURROUNDED by “I’m-way-to-cool-for-God” apostates, most of whom are otherwise decent hearted.

Why did this thread degenerate into a “I’m hoping he will be saved” thread? Who cares what his religion is. He is a great mind.

One does not have to accept your particular flavor of religion to go to heaven.

Talk about his great discoveries and how that intellect will be gone when he dies, not if he’s been “saved”.

Lol. Yeah. Mr. Shock Rock himself became a Born Again Christian in the early 1990’s. He has a Teen type ministry called Solid Rock Foundation, sings in his church choir, and supports a local Evangelical Christian College. I read his testimony a few years ago in a book put out by a Christian Rock mag called “Rock Stars on God”. He is really on fire for Christ.

He has taken a little flack for choosing to remain in the secular market but has produced several albums with very strong Christian messages (I know it sounds crazy) and is very open about his faith.

A great mind does not get you into heaven. We are all equal at the foot of the Cross. All sinners in need of a Savior.

And Jesus would disagree with you that “
One does not have to accept your particular flavor of religion to go to heaven.”

Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” NO ONE.

It is NOT about “religion” (religious practices) it is ALL about a relationship with Jesus Christ.

My daughter saw him at USC a few weeks ago. She said it was weird, because when the audience asked questions there was a LONG interval before the answer came. And there he sat all that time entirely immobile on the stage.

He’s lived a wonderful life. He’s made a huge impact on the world. He will be greatly missed. His religious beliefs are irrelevant to me.

I don’t think it is skepticism, except in the Greek sense of the word.

So I guess the Pope John Paul II and Mother Theresa won't be there either?
I'm Catholic. I guess I won't be there either.

Hawking has secularly helped us see the face of God. He has discovered some of the intricacies of what happens in black holes and what may have happened at the Big Bang.
