Al Qaeda Calls for Attack on Jerusalem

(IsraelNN.com) While the eyes of the world are focused on the Durban II racism conference in Geneva, the international al-Qaeda terrorist organization issued a new call for an attack on Israel.
The deputy al-Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, urged the group’s Iraqi followers to sneak the borders and “liberate” Jerusalem in a new recording posted on the As-Sahab terrorist internet website on Monday.

This will be a much more difficult strike than Osirak.
There are multiple sites, well disbursed throughout Iran.
Many are in buried in heavily reinforced, concrete bunkers. Multiple strikes will probably be required.
The Iranians are expecting an attack and have modern anti-aircraft missiles from Russia.
Osirak was a single target, above ground and suprise was total. Only one strike was needed.
Wait until Ahmadinejad’s plane touches down... BTW I think Israel should consider the possibility of an enrichment site under the runway... :-))
Fortunately, Israel is also more capable than they were back then.

There's an idea ... decapitation strike in addition to the regular hit.
I think such a long-distance mission is unlikely, although not impossible, and Israel certainly has shown it’s ability to launch operations to very great distances; the further out they were, the smaller the force involved (Eichmann’s capture involved just one or two agents I think; Entebbe was a small team of commandos and a few aircraft). IMHO, it’s more likely that Israel will strike more heavily against a nearer foe, such as the Hizbollah; it’s also more likely that it won’t be in 2009; for that matter, it’s more likely that the strike — wherever it is — won’t be until after the US election in 2010.

Good question, but per policy, they will make it when it is least expected even though they have made every possible move to let them know it is coming to get civilians out of the way.
You have to give Israel credit, they always give warning and yet, no one ever really knows when to see it coming.
