Univision: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?

Sarah Palin: No, I do not.

So, she favors following current immigration law. NOT AMNESTY!!!!

You can't smear her. You will have to just call her a pretty airhead like the libs. She embodies everything in which conservatives believe.

I followed the Simcox saga a couple of years ago, when a whole lotta Minuteman donations evaporated.

OK, thanks. I'll dig a little deeper. Surely the opposition will trot this out if he gets far.

If he does online contributions, it’s over.

Hey, this Simcox guy doesn’t have a braindead daughter who can’t decide whether she craves potato chips or her father’s affection and feels compelled to work out her affection substitution issues by lashing out against heterosexuals in a blog, right?

Except he won’t get away with it. The press will excoriate his lack of experience because he is a conservative.

You left out the rest of the interview.

Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.”

I don't know what you call it, but I call a "path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants" Amnesty. In fact, I can't think of another word for it. Can you?

Yes, Texans, call each of John Cornyn’s offices and tell them you will NOT support Cornyn with your $$ or your vote, if he continues to support Snarlin’ Arlen in PA. His senate offices will tell you to call the NRSC office. Don’t; they transfer you immediately to a recorded message. Just get your $$/vote message across quickly to the regional Senate offices.

contact info: www.cornyn.senate.gov

Then, send what ever amount you can to:

www.simcoxforsenate.com
www.JoinRobSimmons.com
www.toomeyforsenate.com

Help conservatives get into/stay in office!

Well, yeah. To quote your quote...

It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

This means that she believes that everyone that wants to come here should have the same chance as anyone else, so we have to follow the law. Nowhere does she say a "shorter" path to citizenship.

If you don't like Sarah, fine. I don't understand why any true conservative wouldn't, but you are entitled to your opinion. But, please, don't say she is for amnesty when she has stated plainly that she is not.

Thank you for the URL’s. I think Spector is the easiest to beat, but McCain is just as, or more, important. They are both cancers on the Conservative Cause! I have repeatedly praised Cornyn, but I think that he has lost his way with his support of spector.

"but to replace him with a shyster wouldn't help the cause."

Shyster? I was under the impression that "shyster" referred to lawyers, not kindergarden teachers.....

So what do you think the over/under is on the percentage that Simcos gets. I think it is 4%.

It isn't "my quote". It's Sarah Palin's quote. You truncated the question, which I will restore below.

Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America.

That is amnesty. It gives people who break the law a leg up. It does not mean, as you say, that "everyone that wants to come here should have the same chance as anyone else, so we have to follow the law".

Here's why: The questioner specifically asked about "undocumented immigrants". The other term for "undocumented immigrants" is illegal aliens. So when she says she supports a "path to citizenship" for undocumented workers, she is supporting amnesty for illegals.

Amnesty means that we ignore the fact that they are illegal and allow them to become citizens. It is not in any way "have (ing) the same chance as anyone else" to use your words. No amnesty means we send them home, and refuse re-entry based on the undisputed fact that they've broken the law.

People all over the world wait their turn in line to legally immigrate to the United States. Illegals do not. I don't know how much clearer it can be made. Supporting "a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants", is not leveling the playing field. It is giving people who break the law a boost to the front of the line. Treating people who break the law the same as people who follow the law to the letter is not a level playing field.

If you don't like Sarah, fine. I don't understand why any true conservative wouldn't, but you are entitled to your opinion. But, please, don't say she is for amnesty when she has stated plainly that she is not.

She said she wasn't, then turned around and explained that she was in favor of just that. Her own words, and the words of her running mate John McCain who said the same thing (and more), affirm this.

I believe I'll take their words at face value.

I see your point. I still think, however, that she was tyring to say that the law should be followed in politician doublespeak. All of them talk out of both sides of their mouths, trying to please everyone by keeping them confused as to their true intentions.

No need to bring McPain into this. I cannot STAND him - check the tagline. I KNOW he wants amnesty.
