Why Obama Won’t Release ALL the CIA Memos on “Torture”

They show that enhanced interrogations saved thousands of American lives!

Last week the Obama Administration released a selected batch of memos detailing the Bush Administration’s scrupulous efforts to maintain humane, yet effective interrogations of the most vile Al Queda terrorists in our custody. That move was opposed by former CIA Chief Michael Hayden as well as four current and former CIA chiefs and others who realized that it only served to help future captured terrorists resist providing the information needed to save American lives.

In an interview with Sean Hannity on Monday, former Vice President Cheney called on the Obama Administration to release additional memos which prove how effective advanced interrogation methods were in preventing future attacks:

CHENEY: “I know specifically of reports that I read, that I saw that lay out what we learned through the interrogation process and what the consequences were for the country.

And I’ve now formally asked the CIA to take steps to declassify those memos so we can lay them out there and the American people have a chance to see what we obtained and what we learned and how good the intelligence was, as well as to see this debate over the legal opinions.”

However, there was some evidence tucked away in the memos which hasn’t been highlighted by the sensationalist media reporting over so-called “torture:”

To think these idiots are compromising national security in order to pander to old hippies and greasy guys in black t-shirts living in their parents’ basements.

Unreal.

My view is that we’ve already declassified a heck of alot of intelligence to tell the Obama story here...why not take the second step and explain what we got from all of this interrogation and torture? Surely, its not any worse than whats already been done...right? After that little speech at the CIA workplace...we know its all a game....whoever likes you...likes you and whoever dislikes you...dislikes you. For some reason, its an important game.

One of the dangers faced by the Obamistas is that their constant reference back to the non-story about "torture" is going to stimulate one of their weaker-minded members, a Bill Ayers type, to kill or attempt to kill Dick Cheney or "W".

After that you'll never see Obama in public anywhere in the world ~ not ever. Whatever "charm" he has will have to be displayed behind plexiglass in a tv studio in the White House basement.

A man betrayed by his terrorist friends.

He’s working to become President of the World... not the President of the United States. He wants a global government with one common currency with the ‘one’ as the head of it. Mark my words. AC in the making.

Let’s strip away all the spin. King Obama needed another diversion. And if we think that the rest of the notes will be released, don’t hold your breath. A true communists works this way.

So now they’re going to investigate the lawyers, who reviewed the law and offered their opinions on what would be legal and what would not. Under that reasoning, is the Supreme Court subject to such a review? Those attorneys were working at the President’s request trying to determine what was allowed for the President to use his war powers, as stated in the Constitution. Reviewing the then existing law and providing opinion for the President is not a violation of the law, no matter what Senior Lecturer Comrade O says. That’s just his OPINION.

I hope Bush and Cheney have copies of these memos. Because I am sure the Democrats will destroy any evidence that supports the Bush Administration position.

Yes. I agree.
All of his steps, all of his decisions, everything he does is not done to please the USA, it is done to pave the way for him to be a World ruler.

The arrogance of zero is shocking. The acceptance and admiration in the world for zero is unbelievable.
(why can’t these people see the incompetence?)

If you step back and look at zero and what is happening......
well, let’s just say it is happening.

They are trying to build a case against former Vice President Richard Cheney, is why they cannot release more of the memos referring to “torture”. If the “torture” proved to be effective and led to a SHORTENING of the period of active conflict, and a vast reduction in lives lost, then that sort of undercuts their case.

What has happened, is that the prospective enemies now know how they can resist and manage to avoid the compelled answers from “enhanced” interogation.

I have two points.
One, I think he is looking for an opportunity to declare martial law and a terrorist attack would be just the ticket.
Two, it takes a really cocky guy to take on the CIA. I know that Soros has now got that Brooks woman there, but seriously, what sort of fool thinks that the CIA is going to cover for you when you have sold them down the river? It doesn't even take an act of commission. An act of omission could be equally devastating. A piece of knowledge that an agent acquired could be deemed too inconsequential to be passed on.
There are a lot of people I might take a risk at upsetting, but people with the knowledge and abilities of the CIA aren't the ones I would be picking a fight with. I would be a lot more careful when I was jogging if I were him or if I took a boat out or even just walking up and down a staircase.

Hill Briefed on Waterboarding in 2002

The DemonicRats are using this "torture " for Pure Political Gain....

************************EXCERPT***************************

In Meetings, Spy Panels' Chiefs Did Not Protest, Officials Say

By Joby Warrick and Dan Eggen
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, December 9, 2007; Page A01

In September 2002, four members of Congress met in secret for a first look at a unique CIA program designed to wring vital information from reticent terrorism suspects in U.S. custody. For more than an hour, the bipartisan group, which included current  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was given a virtual tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and the harsh techniques interrogators had devised to try to make their prisoners talk.

Among the techniques described, said two officials present, was waterboarding, a practice that years later would be condemned as torture by Democrats and some Republicans on Capitol Hill. But on that day, no objections were raised. Instead, at least two lawmakers in the room asked the CIA to push harder, two U.S. officials said.

"The briefer was specifically asked if the methods were tough enough," said a U.S. official who witnessed the exchange.

Congressional leaders from both parties would later seize on waterboarding as a symbol of the worst excesses of the Bush administration's counterterrorism effort. The CIA last week admitted that videotape of an interrogation of one of the waterboarded detainees was destroyed in 2005 against the advice of Justice Department and White House officials, provoking allegations that its actions were illegal and the destruction was a coverup.

Yet long before "waterboarding" entered the public discourse, the CIA gave key legislative overseers about 30 private briefings, some of which included descriptions of that technique and other harsh interrogation methods, according to interviews with multiple U.S. officials with firsthand knowledge.

With one known exception, no formal objections were raised by the lawmakers briefed about the harsh methods during the two years in which waterboarding was employed, from 2002 to 2003, said Democrats and Republicans with direct knowledge of the matter. The lawmakers who held oversight roles during the period included Pelosi and  Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) and Sens. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) and  John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), as well as Rep. Porter J. Goss (R-Fla.) and  Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan).

Individual lawmakers' recollections of the early briefings varied dramatically, but officials present during the meetings described the reaction as mostly quiet acquiescence, if not outright support. "Among those being briefed, there was a pretty full understanding of what the CIA was doing," said Goss, who chaired the House intelligence committee from 1997 to 2004 and then served as CIA director from 2004 to 2006. "And the reaction in the room was not just approval, but encouragement."

Congressional officials say the groups' ability to challenge the practices was hampered by strict rules of secrecy that prohibited them from being able to take notes or consult legal experts or members of their own staffs. And while various officials have described the briefings as detailed and graphic, it is unclear precisely what members were told about waterboarding and how it is conducted. Several officials familiar with the briefings also recalled that the meetings were marked by an atmosphere of deep concern about the possibility of an imminent terrorist attack.

What’s happening is TREASON by the sitting President.

0bama should be IMPEACHED for giving Aid and Comfort to the Enemies of the USofA.

0bama says “what enemies, I’m holding hands with our new friends, they won’t harm us now.”

The USofA is going to be attacked again soon. And we won’t be ready for it. Wussy 0bama will be located in a closet in the White House, in the fetal position, sucking his thumb, and crying “I want my mommy.”
