Moshe Feiglin, head of Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership Movement) said last week that if he was elected prime minister, he would try to rebuild the destroyed Temple in Jerusalem.
"I don't know if I will have the merit of doing something that is the aspiration of every Jew," said Feiglin. "But if I become prime minister I will take away control over the Temple Mount from the Wakf [the Islamic trust] and reinstate Jewish sovereignty over the entire mount and, hopefully, rebuild the Temple."
Feiglin said that rebuilding the Temple and all that it symbolized was the essence of a Jewish state.
Feiglin made the comments during the second annual Ramle Conference, sponsored by the religious Zionist settler movement Komemiut and a small group of young rabbis who are involved in outreach in Ramle.
The subject of the conference was "Between Israel and the Nations of the World."
Speakers who included Rabbi of Safed Shmuel Eliyahu and Rabbi of Hebron-Kiryat Arba Dov Lior managed to draw only a few dozen people to the event. The conference, which took place at Ramle's community center, was also broadcast on Arutz 7's Internet site.
Feiglin said that Israel's political leadership since 1967 had missed the chance to "realize every Jew's aspiration."
"I am not saying that I will fulfill this dream, but I am saying that if I get the chance I will do my utmost to bring our hopes in line with reality. It may seem altogether disconnected from reality to talk about rebuilding the Temple, but imagine how an Auschwitz survivor would have responded if he were told in 1945 that the Jewish people would have a state of their own with a Jewish army," he said.
In December of last year, ahead of national elections, Feiglin, who was number 20 on Likud's list, was sidelined by Likud chairman Binyamin Netanyahu. In an internal party decision, Feiglin was bumped down to the number 36 slot, leaving him out of the present Knesset.
However, Feiglin, who spoke with The Jerusalem Post Sunday, said he still harbored ambitions of replacing Netanyahu and becoming Israel's next prime minister.
Meanwhile, Rabbi Zalman Melamed, a leading spiritual leader of the settlement movement and rabbi of Beit El, envisioned a time when a majority of Israelis would be religious.
"There is a steady process unfolding in which the state is gradually becoming more religious," said Melamed.
"Haredim and families from our crowd have large families. Also, there are growing numbers of newly religious families. There is a deep feeling that people want the redemption to arrive already. And part of that process will be the rebuilding of the Temple."
Last I heard, the rabbis had found a white eyelash or something on each one, and declared them non-kosher (ahem - pardon).
You could be right. I haven’t kept up on it.
Seems, though, that I recall some article asserting that they were well on their way and had produced some calves . . . maybe even via genetic engineering . . . that so far, had no white hairs.
But it’s been a while and I have no idea where I read that.

Who says that Feiglin will be the one to rebuilt the temple?
Oh, they are working hard to produce one as we speak. They thought they had one a few years ago, but it didn't pass the test. Soon, though.
Open questions:
1) Who is working hard to produce one?
2) Why?
3) Who conducts the test?
4) Why was the last one deemed not kosher?
5) What would have happened, if it were found genuine?

The Middle Times were ending, and the heavens were filled with fire, and The Lord did fight to throw The Daemon out of the heavens.
And the fight was fierce, and the sky was filled with bright flashes of fire, and debris did rain down on the people, and they were frightened.

And The People faced The Daemon, and prostrated themselves flat on their bellies; and they turned up their collars, to hide their necks, and they tucked their arms under them, lest the Daemon see their hands; and they bowed their heads, and seemed to kiss the dry desert floor.
But The Daemon knew them, and saw them in the desert, and was displeased, that they had attempted to hide.
And The Daemon released his awful wrath, and The People were terrified.
And those of The People that had displeased The Daemon, by their proximity to him, were instantly consumed by fire, such that all that was left of them, and of their clothes, and of their armor and helms, was a dark stain on the dry, cracked desert floor.
And those that had displeased The Daemon, by casting their eyes on him, were instantly struck blind, never to see again.
And those farther yet from The Daemon, were burned horribly, although they did live, some for a day, some lingering on in awful pain for weeks.
And those farther yet from The Daemon, they thought themselves spared, and that the Daemon might let them live.
And then The Daemon did exhale, in a mighty blast of hot air, so strongly that boulders were tossed across the desert, as a child might skip a rock on a calm lake; and the sick, and the burned, and the wounded, and the dead, were rolled up in the great wave of The Daemons breath, and many were crushed.
And then did The Daemon draw breath, in a wave of air as strong as his mighty exhalation, and more of The People were caught up, and torn, and crushed by the rocks and boulders of the desert.
And then there was a mighty clap, such that many of The People that had survived thus far were struck deaf, and The Daemon was gone.
And in place of The Daemon was a mighty pillar of fire, topped by a huge cloud of smoke, that blacked out the sun, and made the day into night.
And those of The People who had survived, again thought that they had bean spared; but many among them did sicken, and their fingernails, and their toenails, and their teeth did fall out, and they did die.
And The People were no more, and only a few, scattered through the desert, did survive.
And the Final Times did begin.
The Temple Institute, an organization dedicated to preparing for rebuilding a Third Temple in Jerusalem, has been attempting to identify Red Heifer candidates consistent with the requirements of Numbers 19:1-22 and Mishnah Tractate Parah. In recent years, the Institute identified two candidates, one in 1997 and another in 2002. The Temple Institute had initially declared both kosher, but later found each to be unsuitable.

In other words, why are poeple active working to hasten the onset of Armageddon?
I suspect since the rabbis don’t recognize New Testament prophecy, they don’t see it as hastening Armegeddon. they see it as ushering in the reign of Messiah. Then again, Christian pastors that support the Red Heifer search likely see it as hastening the return of Christ, recognizing that Armegeddon is an unavoidable consequence of Christ’s return. JMO.
But the problem is, any attempt to rebuild the temple will result in WWIII, not in 1000 years, but now.
1. to fulfill Biblical prophecy—whether the current actors believe so, or not.
2. They see it as their Biblical duty before God.
The Israeli’s don’t see it that way, per se.
BTW, given the oligarchy getting worse . . . until Armageddon . . .
I’ve been shifting my attitude.
I’m increasingly ready for it to come and be gone.
Armageddon happens after the 7 years of the TRIBULATION . . . and before the 1,000 years of Peace.
Frightening.
