Police want to charge a state legislator with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the January death of Carol Sinisgalli, who died of exposure in a remote area of Rocky Hill.
Prosecutors in Superior Court in New Britain are reviewing an arrest warrant application seeking to charge state Rep. James O'Rourke, sources close to the investigation said. The warrant must be signed by a prosecutor and a judge before an arrest may be made. Criminally negligent homicide is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,000.

If the hitch hiking female was as violent, drunk, etc - how can the man be charged with any crime?
This case seems to be a situation where an out of town elected official simply did what the hitch hiker wanted, specifically to get out of the car.
Why is that a crime? Just because MS Drunk died as a result of her choices made while drunk is hardly the fault of the man.

It is never any sort of safe move for a man to offer a woman a ride anywhere, drunk of sober, if she is not his relative or his wife. When she got in the car he should have called the police. Giving a woman a ride gives her control over a man’s life should she go for it. All she has to do is cry “rape!” or these days, “sexual harassment!” and she owns him. For the same sort of reasons I do not understand men who teach in classrooms with female students.

You raise a profoundly disturbing issue. If America can be gagged and/or intimidated by activists, we become like any other nation in that we give up our sovereign freedoms/rights.
I recently survived such an attempt, and have always worried about “when” it would occur. Not “if”, please note.
If one either has any assets, has any enemies, or even irritates one a “Minority”, “FemiNazi”, “presstitute”, “animal rights nutcase”, ad nauseam - prepare for civil and criminal charges.
Why do I still teach? Because I refuse to allow my Constitutional Rights to be reduced or destroyed by socialists.
Despite the Lamestream Media, I do not think the public really supports the communism which Obama (and all of the assorted, sordid whacko categories) I alluded to above really represent America.

Did you post this to the wrong thread? I don't see any woman making charges in the story.
That is BS, was the woman not found on the railroad siding and did not people say she left the bar with the man going to give her a ride and did the drunk driver not have a record.
Sorry, but with merely her “HerSay” one could not sustain a parking ticket, much less a more serious charge.
Drunks do put themselves at risk when they insist on drinking themselves away from being responsible citizens.
Neither I, nor anyone else, is responsible for saving those determined to damage themselves from themselves.

I was the first whodat, when I first used the term, with my first dell, I did a search, there was no whodat found. I made the mistake of using it in dells ownership forum. It is Ebonics. for who is that, same as who dat be, several years have passed, many have stolen the term! I have proof, it was my first email address back in the 1990’s.
