Romney Suggests Palin 'Beautiful,' Not Influential

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney joked about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s place on Time’s list of influential people, saying, “But was that the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?”

In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” broadcast Sunday, Romney was responding to a question from the moderator as to whether Time’s inclusion of Palin and talk show host Rush Limbaugh on their list of “The World’s Most Influential People” was a positive or negative thing for the Republican Party.

Romney added, “I think there are a lot more influential Republicans than that would suggest.”

After his boss caught flak for his apparent dissing of Palin, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom spun the comment as just “a self-deprecating joke as to why there weren’t more Republicans on the list,” according to a report in Politico.

“I think there are 100 influential Republicans alone who have tremendous ideas and I hope that we can all work together to accomplish what we believe is best for America,” Palin said through a spokeswoman.

What a b*tch. Romney that is. Sheesh. I just wish he, the Huckster, Graham and McCain would go away.

Romney spends more money on hairspray!

My Daddy taught me to be suspicious of any man who spends more than 15 seconds combing his hair!

When Republicans aren't belittling Sarah Palin they're hoping Obama succeeds. I'm not Mike Murphy or anything but that doesn't seem like a winning strategy...

Oh, I’m not so sure a do-over at this point would not have just about every former McCain voter, as well as a good 25% or more now-disappointed Obama voters, going for Ms. Palin.

Hey Mitt Romney, thanks for the feedback. Go hang out with Arlen.

Very lame, Mitt. This is projection at its finest. Coming from the 'pretty boy' himself, this is pretty funny.

p.s. I'm pretty sure that Sarah does not fight with a purse.

Listen here pretty boy Mitt Romney,
I’ll over look your slightly weird religion but I will not stand by and listen to you slight Mrs. Palin.
She is a REAL conservative Republican. Not one because of convenience.
So listen pal, ya ever want my sympathies? Hitch your wagon to Saracuda or get run the hell over.

Does Romney know he just missed his chance?

I think the word for him is “tone deaf”. It tells me he sees her as a rival, which tells me he’s on the wrong side of our little intramural squabble for the soul of the party.

Romney better tread lightly. If he doesn’t like Palin, I don;t like him.

She represents ME and what I believe in.

"If I was Romney I would say the same thing. Palin is the only person that will keep Romney from the nomination. It will be a war."

Remember when Romney said that he had been a hunter for 'pretty much his entire life,' when the reality was that he had gone twice at a family farm as a youth? Contrast that with Palin, who is an actual hunter.

Pro-life? One talks about it (recently), while the other lives it.

Mitt is sinking himself. Even Rush was taking shots at this ridiculous 'listening tour' that Mitt and the lightweights are touting. Last summer, I had hoped that Romney actually believed what he espoused. It seems that Mitt believes in Mitt, and that's about it.

Let me get this straight... Romney, who looks like a local TV news anchor, is deriding Palin for her good looks?

Ya know, she has quite reshaped the political landscape in that little backwater we call Alaska, as well as managing to almost put John McCain over the top in his tepid Presidential campaign. I’d say that counts as influential....

I’m a Mormon that didn’t support Romney, but I see the Romney-haters have seized on this and come to the conclusion that it was a jab at Palin. It was not. It was a jab at Time and at the MSM for ignoring Republicans.

Hate him if you want, but hate intelligently.

Or fourth? I forget how many he has.

I bet he has all of 'em wave those hankies!

Well, it would take a preening, vainglorious coxcomb like Mitt to make a statement like that.

Mitt, you’re beautiful too babycheeks.

Now, how about refunding MA some of that salary you collected while being the most no show governor this state has ever had.

Mitt attended to his gubernatorial duties like those guys we see on TV getting caught taking naps, visiting hookers and bars on State and local municipal time.
