You are right. Marriage is a win for men. His arguments are as absurd as a liberal’s.

It stinks because it puts the man in a position he isn’t ready for. I’m sure a lot of divorces occur because men freak out at the responsibilities they take on and then balk at.

It’s time to hold the women accountable for the damage that they do to the kids, the men and soceity.
But I doubt anyone has the fortitude.

Most kids in that spot hate being w/o a dad. So start a public info campaign.... something along the lines of
“This was done to you and you hated it.....so dont you do it to your kids!”

Are you divorced? I am just curious as to why you think men and women have to be enemies?
The blame goes on both sides. For the men, it means we have to stop acting like cads just because we can. It also means being very, very, careful about who you date and marry. And yes, it means taking responsibility for your actions.
But the women are also part of the problem. AB mentions that guys are “conditioned” to buy fancy things to impress women. COD, I hate to tell you that is the truth. I worked in college at a soriety as a waiter. The girls got used to me, and after a while would talk about things without thinking “There is a guy listening”. Many of them would not date a boy unless he had certain material possessions. Be it nice clothes, car, stereo, whatever. See they have also be programmed to look for the guy who will give them the most stuff.
Funny thing is, we as a society are totally broken in this area. Men and women chase what the TV tells them they want, and then find out they aren't happy.

I agree. Some women refuse to see or admit that to themselves.

The fact is that marriage in the USA have regressed to a business affair not a romantic one?

If these “fathers” thought dinner and a movie was expensive - wait til they’re paying monthly child support for 18 years!
I’ve never been divorced and I never will be. I am sympathetic. The courts are wrongly biased and the attorneys seem to have an incentive to make it as terrible as possible.
I disagree with your “fact”. My marriage is a wonderful, romantic experience. At the same time I’ve seen some of what you are talking about, but also a recognition that things need to be better and some very positive change in that direction - making marriages better.
Having seen divorce firsthand I’d say there are no winners. I am sorry about your situation.
