Good morning, California voters. Do you feel better, now that you've gotten that out of your system?
You wanted to show the state's politicians just how mad you are at them. And you did. Boy, did you ever.
Proposition 1A with its taxes and its spending limit? Too much of one and not enough of the other, you said (or was it the other way around), and voted it down. Never mind that the taxes go into efffect anyway. You showed 'em.
Proposition 1B? That was a tougher call.
Proposition 1C? No way. You like the lottery just like it is. And all they were going to do with that extra $5 billion was spend it.
Propositions 1D and 1E? Forget it. You had already voted to put money into preschool and mental health programs. You're not taking it out now.
And 1F? Heck, yeah! Let's not pay our legislators if they can't pass a budget on time. So what if it likely won't have any effect, or that this year they actually passed a budget months earlier than they needed to? That's not the point.
The point is that you're sick and tired of all this political mumbo-jumbo. So you showed those politicians who's in charge. You. You're now officially in charge of a state that will be something like $25 billion in the hole for the fiscal year beginning July 1.
So, now that you've put those irksome politicians in their place, maybe it's time to think about this: Since you're in charge, exactly what do you intend
...That sounds a lot like work, you say? Sorry, no whining allowed. You asked for this job. Now you've got it, so get on it. Oh, and remember. The entire nation is watching to see how you do now that you're in charge.

Libs hate Americans. That’s just the way it is.
Sorry, meant that to be edited! Looks like I botched it! I’m sure it will be stricken from the record. Sorry admin!
Yes California voters and while your at it perhaps you all should cancel your subscriptions to the SacBee if anyone still has one.
Then, we can go after the illegals.
See Sac-O-Bee? Problem solved.
There is little hope that CA can cut the spending fast enough to keep up with the declining tax revenues. With car sales down by nearly 50%..and that is a big earner of sales tax and no capital gains tax coming in..they are in a world of trouble.
They will be headed to DC looking for another hand out.
Kinfolk said you better move away from there
Said California is no place for you to be
So I loaded up the truck and I moved from Beverly
Going back to the hills we are
Fishing holes and Country and Western Stars
I hope they go bankrupt. smug little twerps....
Post of the YEAR contender.
while I’m sure it will be edited also...I agree with the sentiment :o)
I don’t want to get into a p!$$!ng match with you, but ... is the B correct?
What would you expect from the Excremento Bee?
LOL
It’s still there as of this posting time...
>The tax-loving Sac-O-Bee demonstrates its contempt for California voters.
Well, don’t our Political Overlords do the same?
Okay, I’ll take the challenge.
First cut head count 10% across the board. With 330,000 employees, I think 33,000 are dead weight. Assume burdened cost of $100,000 per employee. There is 33,000,000,000 in annual savings. just do it.
Stop spending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I taught my daughter as she was growing up, if it is on the tip of your tongue it is in danger of falling out when you open your mouth.
I forgive you this time, though.
FU Sac Bee. *spit*
This last line from the article CLEARLY states the problem:
“You asked for this job. Now you’ve got it, so get on it. Oh, and remember. The entire nation is watching to see how you do now that you’re in charge.”
You see, government has forgotten who is the employer. WE THE PEOPLE are. Until they see and understand that, I have a feeling that revolution is a-”brewing” (as in TEA PARTIES)!
Good job at masking...lol.
As long as we allow the ethnic group "Deadbeat-Americans"'s vote to count as much as productive Americans, America will continue the downhill slide to Zimbabwe status.
Just the simple act of requiring a potential voter to show a picture ID and a current tax return showing that some amount of tax was paid would be a positive step in the right direction.
Califoria people childish for voting down taxes (editor not me) ping!
You could do just a little editing to this article and have it apply perfectly to every one of those Americans who voted for ‘change’ last November.
The Voters in California DID their job.
Their NO votes were a rebuke to California politicians for those politicians trying to pass the buck to them, instead of them, the politicians, making the hard decisions they were elected to do.
The very purpose of the propositions was an attempt by the political class to help them avoid having to themselves take the hard decisions they are supposed to take, as is their responsibility to the offices they were elected to.
California’s voters should now vote out-of-office EVERY incumbent elected official in the state - reject the entire political class, en mass.
These are the best and brightest Bee brains who opined within hours of 9/11/2001 that we shared the blame for the attacks. We do not try to "understand" the rest of the world and the attacks delivered that message.
Within weeks of 9/11 the publisher of the Bee was booed off the stage at a local university because of her outbursts against President Bush and Att. Gen. Ashcroft. She condemned them in defense of suspected terrorists.
1960s Alinsky street rabble and their ideological issue do not like dissent now that they feeeeeeeeel that they are the "Establishment."
Reminds me of Peter Jennings' retort that "America threw a temper tantrum" when they voted the GOP into control of Congress in 1994.
We always were in charge. We had just delegated some authority to some worthless politicians and are now letting them know that their propositions are not acceptable.
What we want is a reduction in government spending, and no we do not mean letting the criminals out of prison and firing the policemen.
It is going to be one big sight to see when the Government can't screw real workers out of their money anymore. The leeches will whine bloody murder - lib MSM will hawk their plights to high heaven. And, then, there will be rioting, the likes of which never seen.
The people generated propositions passed such as Prop 13, prop 87, prop 8.
Legislative sponsored props are what has increased the costs to the state. The chicken poop legislators know they can’t get these spending measures passed, so push it off as propositions. They twist words, mislead, and lie, but hey, all’s fair. Reap what you sow.
State employees earn more than they are worth and retire on golden nests. Civil servants earning more than private sector doesn’t work. Time to come back to reality.
What is the age of this “editor”? 10 years or less? God, how infantile. But then, “it” is a Liberal. So, no surprise.
Just the simple act of requiring a potential voter to show a picture ID and a current tax return showing that some amount of tax was paid would be a positive step in the right direction.
You bet!!!!
Meant to say “intercourse the Sacramento Bee!”
sounds like the Suck Bee is suffering its last gasps.
How about we close down the Sacramento Bee for starters?
In the last 10 years, the CA budget has grown from $69 B to $145 B. More than double in 10 years.
When the Gov explains why, he’ll know the answer.
I’ve found that calling your customers a bunch of poopie heads is not the best way to get them to purchase your product.
Apparently this particular newspaper didn’t get the message.
Amazing condescension.
Hey Sac-O-Bee!....are you to chicken shit to list the author of your cute editorial?.....
“Uh, so what now? I’ll tell you what now you arrogant asshat!....It’s people like you and your attitude that got California into this damn mess! People like you wanted everything: more spending for education, more spending for the environment, more spending for illegal immigrant health benefits, no oil drilling off the coast, on and on and on!
Go straight to hell! It’s your fault! don’t you dare come to me and say now what? The monkey wrench has been thrown into YOUR totally out of control Sacramento political machine! Like a drug addict with no more cocaine you’ll have to go thru the withdrawal program like the rest of us! Whould you like some cheese with that whine? DEAL WITH IT....NO MORE!
I don’t think it’s a bad idea to ask “now what?” I do think the delivery and contempt for the voters deomonstrated in the article is odious. These are the type of people who think it’s OK for judges to reverse the will of the voters. Having said all that, it is a pertinent question; the voters are just sick of having the onus fall on them.
Except that's what will happen.
Then we'll see who laughs last.
It’s always essential services - fire protection, police, roads, etc,
that statists threaten to cut if they aren’t given more of our money.
It’s never their salaries or staff that will have to do without. We simply MUST keep the 3rd executive assistant wine steward on staff while we threaten to cut fire protection by half.

Hulk smash keyboard so overjoyed! Hulk throw morning coffee at screen so mad at Bee Editors. Hulk use big boy word like, “Petulant.” Hulk treat Bee editors like puppy...”Bad puppy. Only go on paper...OH!!! Bee did when printed editorial!” Bee headline: “Voters Reject Props -— Women, Children Hardest Hit!” Same tired diatribe. Hulk know big words today! Hulk proud of self!
Yep, because taxing and spending is working so well for ya.
That’s GOOD...
someone needs to invite him over here.
Now the link to that editorial is offline. I wonder if they couldn’t take the reader’s comments, which is what I went looking for.
Thanks, you saved me the trouble of writing it. The only other thing I'd mention is that public employee unions are the principal budget-busters and absolutely must be brought to heel -- but of course they're the Democrat base, along with trial lawyers.
The voters have brought some of this upon themselves by stupidly approving huge bond obligations and carved-in-stone increases for education and other spending, etc. in the past. But those measures have been misleadingly promoted as you say. When voters have tried to limit spending on illegals, etc., were overruled by the courts or politicians. Time to get out the pitchforks.
