Ida: the Real Story of this “Scientific Breakthrough”
AiG ^ | May 21, 2009

Posted on 05/21/2009 10:38:06 AM PDT by GodGunsGuts

So-called “missing link” Ida hit the media in a major way on Monday of this week, with even search engine Google falling prey to the hype and modifying its search page banner to show Ida. We quickly responded with a full article, Ida: the Missing Link at Last?

Yet within a few hours of the unveiling of the fossil—coordinated to coincide with the publication of the scientific paper on Ida—some better media outlets began to report some worrying things about the research. It seems as though the scientific process had been rushed and the claims exaggerated in a bid to promote a new documentary and book on the fossil. Sadly, media pressures sometimes trump full research integrity (something we’ve seen before), and careless media sources reprint explosive (and unjustified) quotations without consulting as many scientists as they should. Thankfully, though, many in the scientific community are questioning the research and beginning to become more vocal about their concerns regarding how good science and media aren’t the best mix.

But don’t just take our word for it—read these amazing excerpts that reveal the Ida hype for what it truly is...

“Jørn Hurum, at the University of Oslo, the scientist who assembled the international team of researchers to study Ida is relaxed about using the phrase [“missing link” to describe Ida]. “Why not? I think we could use that phrase for this kind of specimen,” he said. “[People] have a feeling that if something is important it is a missing link.”

Hahahahahahaha....VERY scientific...hahahahahaha....

Aren’t there about a gazillion missing links they need to find in order to show macroevo?

Ha ha ha! The “real story” from AiG. Aren’t we lucky to have GGG to keep us on the straight and narrow?

Yes, and it is only getting worse for the Evos. It seems the more fossils they find, the more missing links they need to find to explain them. Trouble is, the missing never seem to materialize.

Yes we are lucky- without his postings, all we would have for ‘News’ would be left wing agendist material devoid of the FACTS, and heavy on propoganda- probably an ideal world value you treasure very much, but something that thoseof us who want ALL the facts without the agendist spin of macroevolution poluting the research could very well do without and be much hte wiser for it- GGG’s postings expose hte hypocrisy, deceit, and blatant outright lies in the main stream media and expose hte blatant bias that polute ‘science’ these days- so yes, we are lucky he’s posting the facts- regardless of whether they conflict with world views abotu wevolution or not- they are valuable insights into the propoganda that macroevolutionists try to pawn off on the unsuspecting public

Funny you should mention that. A recent study came out that shows that Evo-atheists are far more likely than Bible-believing Christians to believe in everything from astrology, to big foot, to little green men on Mars.

Why don’t you creationist bozos give your own seriously flawed theory the same critique that most real scientists give their own pet theories. Bounce it against the data and the facts.

Yep, but you can still have Dawkinsian Darwinism without the missing links i.e. ...aliens didn't just plant the first cell on earth, they planted the ancestors to all the species. There.....done....Athiesm is still true.....LOL!
