An off-duty Boston police officer was viciously punished for her good deed when she responded to a beaten woman’s cries for help only to be attacked by the woman and her boyfriend, police said yesterday.
The officer was walking through the Back Bay about 11 p.m. Friday when she heard a woman calling for help, police said.

This woman used to be someone’s daughter. Getting herself into this mess did not happen overnight nor can it be solved overnight. It takes a Christian or ten each offering a hand up. She will not take the first one or maybe even the seventh. But maybe one hand will be taken before she is dead.
I hate to see any woman in this state. Be it a pimp or your husband that beats you like this, it is a horrible life to live. I pray that someone can help her.

That simple act might prevent a lot of police injuries.
