Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly worded appeal to block her nomination.
O'Reilly noted Malkin's reaction made on Fox and Friends this morning and Robinson's comments which were posted on Free Republic and e-mailed to The Factor.
O'Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O'Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.
Hot Air complained that the comment singled out by O'Reilly was labeled a 'blog' entry rather than a comment, thereby leaving the impression it was made by one of the site's official posters.
Jim Robinson's response was boiled down to Jim calling O'Reilly "an elitist gasbag" and noting that offending comments sometimes get past the moderators. O'Reilly did not inform his viewers that Mr. Robinson is a diabetic who has lost family to the disease.
The segment aired about forty minutes into the program tonight.

I am always underwhelmed when these self-promoting media hot-shots try to bash the geniune Joe The Plumber types.
With a TV show, books, a radio show, public appearances, guesting on Jay or the view and running his self agrandizing Factor Gear store it is so, so, important to find a patriotic internet hobbyist type webmaster he can bash to show what a common-man middle of the road guy he is at heart.
I don’t think I’ll buy his CD of ballads and standards when he brings that out as that is the pattern he is following.

A good friend of mine was recently on Hannity’s America show. He met a lot of people at Fox and my friend was impressed how all the news people seem to really get along. There was only one individual that was not spoken about with admiration. It was suggested that he is pompous and self absorbed...Is it fact-or fiction?
You can see it in the eyes and reactions of the Fox regulars when BO talks to them on the show. He simply rams his opinion down their throats, dismissively using only their last names and crushing them if he doesn't like what they have to say.
I especially like the looks of Megyn Kelly and Laura Ingraham when he goes off into his narcissistic rants, telling us all how he did or would do something. He also seems uncomfortable around women.

Well, Josh: truth is stranger than fiction! True story! I first heard Rush Limbaugh as I raced through the Lincoln Tunnel to get to a meeting to package a show open and create animation and graphics for a then unknown show, 48 hours. Huge old tv production studio way on the upper east side was where we met the producers, two aussies. They had made a famous movie.
We packaged it up, the aussies took it to NATPE, et: voila~!V’s wife.
Oh, and even thought Rush who was in his premier season on local radio affiliate wabc, told a tall tale and, after people realized it was tall, swore it took six months or something to “get” him, I had to disagree with him, to myself. No, I got him exactly ten seconds into his monologue. I mean, I was driving across 42nd street hoping against hope I would get to Lex a minute after ten o’clock but not so much longer after ten, and careening from one lane to another to do so, racing yellow lights and howling at Rush. Don’t remember the monologue; just remember the irony! V’s wife.

If a self-absorbed elitist whines on the air and nobody is tuned in to hear it, does he make sense? Turn him off already!

I used to be a regular, missing maybe one night a month.
I missed the night, after the election, that BOR went after Palin, but I read about it here. I never clicked on again.
I went from a regular, to never watching.

I’ve seen that too when Dennis is on. It’s pathetic watching O’Reilly ‘trying’ to be funny, trying to be like Dennis, after all can’t have Dennis getting all the laughs. And it is very tiring watching BOR stepping all over all his guests while they speak.
One wonders if the world has finally run out of infomercials....
