Democrats wait for tragedy to enact weapon legislation

America’s 1st Freedom June 2009 Magazine has called the Democrats onto the carpet.

And it isn’t pretty.

Marshall Lewin in an article titled:”Showing their True Colors”, lays it all on the line. In his article he describes a ruthless calculation, Democrat leaders in the White House and in Congress are waiting for people to die. That’s right. They are waiting until there is some national level tragedy, the loss of life involving firearms, to introduce and then pass legislation banning guns.

Gun grabbers have allready lost the argument...alomst every state..even blue states...have reformed their Concealed carry laws...

We have the heller decision...the latest federal law afirming the right to carry in national parks....the far left 9th circuit even re afmirms the individual right to “keep and bear”...

The tide has allready turned and that ship has sailed...

They have given up on banning guns and gone after ammo instead....that wont work either...

Support for “gun crontol” is at an all time low...

I’m a certified NRA instructor...classes are packed...

my response was not for a new or additional 2-A, but in context to safrguns post and the context of this thread. Dhimmi political hacks always have and likely will continue to get in front of the mikes and "issue a call" for gun control. It always happens, least it seems to me, right after a mass shooting... where no guns were allowed, and the law abiding citizens were respecting the local ordnance.

It would be interesting to see a Conservative issue a call requiring all Law Abiding Citizens to be armed after an incident where a well-armed citizen kills the next sumbitch intent on shooting many innocents. That is the gist of my orig remark.

Yes I can see where that would be a great thing....but getting the press to cover it would be another matter...

I have a few buds that are cops and I hear tell the younger crop of cops is a quite a bit more big-government friendly.

It's NOT cops the fedgov fears. It's ELECTED High Sheriffs of tens of thousands of counties across this nation that would tell the feds to go pound sand.

Also, several states have already passed laws saying gun confiscation during martial law is illegal! Calm down and ammo up.

You won’t HAVE freedom if WE (meaning you, me, all of us) lose.

It starts with one person having the attitude - “You F*ck with ONE of us, you F*ck with ALL of us”. Then it spreads. It already has.

Certainly in some instances you are correct - there ARE those who will buckle under. There have always been those who will.

But it’s an individual decision, brother. You can’t speak for everyone; you can only speak for yourself and folks that you know personally. For the record, even though I dont know you, I don’t think you’d buckle or walk away. You have the “Hey F*ck You!” attitude that has marked Americans since the beginning of our existence as a people. It’s a good attitude. It’s the attitude that many, many of us out here STILL have (the proof of that is in the responses coming back your way). It has NOT been bred nor brainwashed out of us.

Sure, there’s tough talk and bravado; there is in every war.
But then there’s the Quiet Professionals as well. And that’s what keeps the other side pissing in their panties and having nightmares every single night - it’s EXACTLY the reason why they haven’t done anything yet other than make easily-targeted examples that only served to terrify people who be terrified anyway by anything. What it HAS done is infuriate those who its dangerous to infuriate, and fill them with “a terrible resolve” to quote a certain Japanese admiral.

There are those who believe in meeting them at the door in warm, friendly, “Meet and Greet” fashion. Instant trip to oblivion? You betcha. But once again, it’s “Hey! F*ck YOU!” to the nth degree, if you think about it.

And there are those who believe in waiting until the first or second wave has passed, giving up their old “surrender guns” with a nod and a grin like good little law-abiding citizens, and then going out and digging up the REAL tools for some payback.

Either way, it is undeniable that there is a large percent of folks who will NOT buckle under.

And either way it is undeniable that people will die - on both sides.

At the end of the day, NO ONE here gets out alive; we’re on this rock for a specific number of hours, and we expire - period. Its what you live and die FOR that matters, ultimately.

Me? I want my progeny to grow up in the same country that I grew up in, as much as possible, with the same chances of success or failure that I was faced with, based on my own merits, my own initiative, my own powers to influence my destiny and either succeed magnificently, or fall flat on my face with no interference.

So that when I do finally lock-down and tag-out, I can go and face God and the millions of American souls that fought and died to GIVE THAT SAME CHANCE TO ME and say “I did my duty”.

I’d say that’s worth dying for, if it comes to it.

It serves no purpose out here to do the he-said-you-said-so-there boogiewoogie with folks who are basically on the same side - that’s why we have no political party right now.

At the end of the day, the other side hates ALL of us equally.

Stay the course. One team, one fight, brother Bouch.

The awesome thing about that is that Sheriffs have to power to deputize anyone.

I should hope, and earnestly pray, that is so. It would be horrible to be an oath-breaker due omission-of-action; just as it would be mortifying to be an overt oath-breaker.

Indeed. I took his remark to be insulting to all National Guard personnel... you know, those who DO show up for disaster relief.

So far there are only rumors, and whispers of rumors... no “official” organized sighting as yet. We shall see.

Funny thing about that: $3.5bn in personnel & equipment may be rendered completely ineffective by $1M in [well placed] .22 rounds... and that’s not even taking into account such tactics as cutting supply-lines or sabotaging them. (Poison their drinking water, food, etc... cut off their electricity, loosen their fuel-lines so they get stranded out in the middle of nowhere and all sorts of other subversion the American Citizen can implement w/o participating in shooting-battles.)

Yes, I’d heard about the ruling that guns can be carried in national parks. But even before that, I had concluded that I would be willing to take my chances if caught carrying. I live in the southeast, and several high-profile murder cases, one involving decapitation of a woman, occurred in both national and state parks. They can be “hunting grounds” for perverts and creeps.

Indeed. They also have the power to fire any deputy. After Katrina, the Sheriff of Hancock Co. MS. issued a public statement that any deputy arresting a citizen for taking food or water from stores would be fired immediately.

He clearly understood the nature of the emergemcy. Obama may not understand the nature of the beast he is dealing with. i.e.-'Red State' minded citizens from EVERY state!

Yeah! That's exactly what I'd like to see.
My state constitution defines the militia as every able-bodied male (not legally barred from bearing arms) betwixt the ages of 18 & 45, that the organized militia is our National Guard under the command of the Governor... and that the milita should be "as much as practicable" be armed in like manner as the US Army.
In case you don't see it there are TWO groupings here: the militia & the _organized_ militia! But because the state constitution states the militia is to be armed like the US Army it chould be giving all able-bodied 18 to 45 year old citizens M4 carbines. :)

Maybe I could/should push that... I don't really think I'd get a lot of [political] support from our [political] overlords on arming the general populous like that.
