WICHITA, Kan. — Dr. George Tiller, a Kansas man who became one of the most famous figures in the national debate over abortion, was shot and killed at his church Sunday morning, KAKE-TV reported.
The station said Tiller was walking into Reformation Lutheran Church at 10:03 a.m., when he was shot.
Tiller was pronounced dead when emergency crews arrived, the station reported.
Police were looking for a blue Ford Taurus with a K-State vanity plate, license number 225 BAB. Police described him as a white male in his 50s or 60s, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 220 pounds, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
Tiller has been among the few U.S. physicians performing late-term abortion. His clinic has repeatedly been the site of protests for about two decades.

What’s more disturbing about this thread is all the handwringing over folks saying the truth about a man who literally killed thousands and thousands of babies...many that were viable.

I agree. We have to change the hearts and minds of people so that abortion is abhorrent to everyone then there will be little to no need for abortionists.
If girls think they need an abortion, let them do it illegally using back alley abortionists. From what I understand it can't be that much more dangerous than the abortion clinics anyway.

"A Wichita jury ruled in March that he was not guilty of illegal abortion on 19 criminal charges he faced for allegedly violating a state law requiring an "independent" second physician's concurring opinion before performing later term abortions. Immediately following the ruling in this criminal case, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts made public a similar complaint against Tiller that was originally filed in December 2008. Tiller's medical license could eventually be suspended or revoked by the board on the basis of the complaint."

If you TRULY believe that Abortion is murder, then you cannot condemn anyone who would do anything to stop this mass murderer from continuing in his crimes.

If you call abortion murder, then this was justifiable homicide.
If abortion is not murder, then Tiller was the victim of a heinous crime and his killer should be condemned.

You might have noticed he was involved in doing other things that millions of people find tragic.

Nobody is shedding tears for Tiller I would think. But murdering him doesn't help anybody. Some other relativist MD will simply pick up his banner and slaughter the unborn.
My judgement here is simple. No tears for Tiller, personally I think he will rot in his own personal hell. Nothing accomplished by murdering him except to turn mushy public opinion against pro lifers. And no babies saved. That's the tearful part.
Bill O'Reilly is about to get crash course in that very thing after this. O'Reilly's been spotlighting Tiller, calling him "Tiller the Baby Killer" for years. Watch how the media plays that up. He's going to be branded an accessory.
