STATEN ISLAND, New York, May 31 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement upon hearing this morning of the killing of abortionist George Tiller:
"I am saddened to hear of the killing of George Tiller this morning. At this point, we do not know the motives of this act, or who is behind it, whether an angry post-abortive man or woman, or a misguided activist, or an enemy within the abortion industry, or a political enemy frustrated with the way Tiller has escaped prosecution. We should not jump to conclusions or rush to judgment.
"But whatever the motives, we at Priests for Life continue to insist on a culture in which violence is never seen as the solution to any problem. Every life has to be protected, without regard to their age or views or actions."
Priests for Life is the nation's largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.

That was the case with Ted Bundy and John Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer. They all were executed -- but only after being tried, convicted, sentenced, and THEN only after they were allowed to appeal both the verdict and the sentence.
You're mistaken about Dahmer who was sentenced to 15 life terms; 957 years, and murdered by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver.

There is no Biblical injunction to pray for a dead man. You're mistaken.
"It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins." 2 Machabees 12:46
Unless you're Almighty God, you don't know the fate of Tiller's soul.

Get a clue, clown.
You wouldn't be fit to hold Pavone's cassock on your best day.

Evil is evil, and murder is definitely evil. Whoever killed Tiller decided to play God. Tiller’s murderer was overcome with evil just as Tiller was overcome with evil. Christians are taught to pray for their enemies and to love them, not murder them.

Google the killer’s name and look at the YouTube films.
Some one was warning about this guy three weeks ago.
I think it’s a set up.

2 Machabees is not a part of scripture or in any Bible I have ever seen. What are you reading? True we don’t know the fate of his soul and your prayers won’t change it one iota.

This sort of action helps no one. It may help give some babies a chance to be born who wouldn't be if this legal, paid-for-hire baby assassin still walked this earth.
That said, two wrongs don't make a right, but IMHO it was a long time coming, karmic-wise. He sowed violent death for a living; he reaped it on himself. His death was far more merciful than what he put his victims through.
Didn't anybody bother to teach him "as a man soweth, so shall he reap" at the Church he went to? So many opportunities to repent and change, even to the day he died. Sad.

Returning good for evil is one topic. Forgiveness is another. Which one do you want to discuss? He can receive forgiveness from God if he repents in the Name of Jesus Christ for the sin of murder.
To: SeaHawkFan
Your point is well taken.

God sometimes uses the evil actions of people to achieve his purposes. Sometimes He does punish evil with evil, but that is for God to do, not us. And for the one practicing evil, even if it does achieve God's purposes, it does not justify him before God. But these are hidden things of God, and it is not possible for us to know just how God is working in history. I have no doubt that Satan will use Tiller's murder for his own purposes. The MSM is part of his minions. Maybe a baby will be spared because of his death, or it could end of justifying the killing of even more babies.
To: Nosterrex
I have no doubt that Satan will use Tiller's murder for his own purposes. And God will use it for His.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph 6:12)

As horrible as Satan and his minions are, they lose in the end. God is Sovereign; sometimes even the bad guys forget that.

Forgiveness comes before death. I am sure every one would ask for it at judgement after death....then its too late..returning good for evil is personal between 2 people..I do evil to you and ask forgiveness because I am sorry. You as a Christian must forgive me...But anyone that thinks God tells us to forgive evil done to another is going to have to back it up in scripture...Its not there..But I don't care to argue religion with anyone...Just back up what you say with scripture..
I do see a continium between evil, good and forgiveness..
Someone that did what this doctor did is not afraid of judgement, and I dare say would not ask for forgiveness while alive. No time for remorse when dead.

Amen to Father Pavone, for showing the love of the Lord in response to Tiller’s death.
This is another way to respond: The prolife community in Kansas and elsewhere provide crisis pregnancy centers and react to late term abortion by supporting perinatal hospice. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2261904/posts
(And, yes, I will spam every thread on Tiller’s death with this link. We cannot be silent about the good work done for life.)

You must be thinking of a different Father Pavone.
This priest has been on the front lines of the pro-life movement for many years, taking the slings and arrows from the Left constantly.
He is not a media hound. But he is a giant Christian in my book.

While I shed no tears for a man who has taken the life from many others, I also know that to resort to killing this pathetic murderer is not the way to resolve the issue. While not the best way, it certainly prevents Tiller from murdering any more innocent babies. I would not convict him of second degree murder, but probably would agree to convict on voluntary manslaughter, which appears to be the crime he committed if he is guilty of any crime.
To: wagglebee
Indeed. Thanks for the ping!
