In fact I believe this is the cry of their inner Zoroastrian soul that refuses to die at the hands of Islamic repression.

Well said. Iran's soul is indeed Zoroaster.

Case in point, the first Pahlavi King, Reza Shah who hated Islam and loved pre-islamic Persian glory, pondered in the 1930's briefly to make Zoroastrianism the state religion of Iran. However it was determined that a general secularization would be better than upsetting the religious structure altogether.

Regardless of that he invited the large Zoroastrian community in India to return to Iran.

It's too bad the Zoroastrians don't accept converts... there are millions of Iranians who want to get back to their own religion.

However there is also the large secret Bahai community in Iran, which are viewed as heretics by the authorities. Bahaism as a Persian religion that is syncretic, pacifist and with it's good ties to Israel, would be a good thing for Iran.

I am laughing at how easily some buy the BS from the islamic regime that the video is fake.

Gee, I never saw the BS you describe.

It was the guy squirting liquid on her face that tipped me off.

Enjoy the iconic worship, though. You seem to need it.

Reza Pahlavi has repeatedly said that he wants a popular referendum to decide whatever form the state should have. He is open to be either President or King, if this is what the people want.

I'd like a return of him, however he would be the No.1 target of all terrorists worldwide.

So how long would your eyes stay open and unresponsive to being filled with flowing blood or any other kind of foreign fluid? Jerk!

Those raptors in Jurassic Park looked pretty real too, huh?

A lot more real than the fake video you seem to revere.

Liquid in face? You don’t mean the cheap whiskey, right?

You are one ignorant POS, by your own choice.

And you are easily deceived.

I envy you and your simple little world.

Here's an alternate viewpoint of that event, if you're so inclined.

I’m genuinely curious as to why you would think this Iranian girl’s death has been faked, if I interpret your opinion correctly. I’ve missed that evidence somewhere.

“A new regime however would”

One would certainly think so; as Iran used to be an ally, and is in some ways Western.

More Western than any other country in the region minus Turkey and Israel.

Seriously, I never knew George met her. Thanks for the info. Is that why she went away?

Watch carefully. Some guy squirts her with a liquid.

"Blood" miraculously appears on her forehead only after some guy's ass occludes the camera.

I'm saying I remain unconvinced.

“It's too bad the Zoroastrians don't accept converts”

Zoroastrianism originated in Iran. It was the official religion there in some form or other until the Muslim invasion.

The Zoroastrians in India are called Parsees. The Parsees were refugees from the Islamic conquest. The Indian rulers there allowed them to remain in India under the precondition that they agree not to proselytize. This became a tenet of Parsee Zoroastrianism as a consequence. The Parsees hold that to whatever religion one was born that was the relgion they were fated to serve and a person could be saved by being a good person in any religion.

I think the Zoroastrian community in Iran, the few that may still exist, do not believe in not accepting converts. I have read on the internet that some Zoroastrian communities accept them.

This issue of not accepting converts is a curious and contradictory one. Zoroaster himself started out in a world dominated by pagans and he converted a great many of them. Others people were converted along the way as time went on. The Zoroastrian Community worldwide is suffering from a diminishing population. It would seem to me that seeking out converts and accepting them is the only way for a religion, certainly a religion of so few followers, to remain and grown.

This is the theme I've been seeing on twitter, youtube, and other sites from the people in Iran since Friday. I'm sorry I missed the first few days. Many of them have muslim names, but want a secular government. This should not be difficult for anyone to understand who can understand and agree with our First Amendment.

What they have had for the past 30 years is Islamic tyranny driven by Arabs. The basiji are mostly imported Arab Hamas and Hezbollah thugs. The majority of the population in Iran are Persian, and a great percentage of them are too young to remember the Islamic Revolution of 1979 or the years prior to that.

The blatant twisting of the election results to give Achedinijad the election, when he came in third in a four-way election was just the last straw. They don't even care much about the valid winner, Masouvi; they simply have had more than enough tyranny of being ruled by an Islamic council, rather than an elected political government. As some have said, they do not want to be ruled by a "desert trash religion".

If they really want to bring down the regime what they should do is destroy the central bank.

That is an exceptionally astute recommendation.

On a related note, if you want to kill America, keep it's central bank (The Fed) operating and more powerful.

That might kill America, but it is what's keeping the American government alive.
