Top protestant evangelist to promote new religion; 'Chrislam' at radical Muslim convention
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), an organization with ties to Hamas and other terrorist groups, will hold its annual convention—the largest yearly gathering of Muslims on the continent—in Washington, D.C. over the Fourth of July weekend.
And the keynote speaker will be Reverend Rick Warren, founder and senior minister of the Saddleback Church, an evangelical mega-church located in Lake Forest, California.
Rev. Warren has become one of America’s leading Christian leaders. Over 400,000 pastors attend his “purpose-driven” church seminars and his books, including “The Purpose Driven Life,” have become international best-sellers.
Why did Rev. Warren commit to appear at such a controversial gathering?
The nation’s leading Protestant evangelist was unavailable for comment, but his scheduled visit at the convention follows ISNA leader Sayyid Syeed’s appearance at the Saddleback Church last December.
Why is the ISNA so controversial?
The organization’s website contains the following quotations:
“The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.’”
“May Allah fight the Jews and the Christians? They took the graves of their Prophets as places of prostration. Two deens [religions] shall not co-exist in the land of the Arabs.”
“I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.” “The Dajjal [Devil, Antichrist] would be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing Persian shawls.” “Ibn Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) stoned to death the Jews, both male and female, who had committed adultery.”

Well, why not? The Antichrist will be accepted as the Jewish Messiah, accepted as the second coming of Christ by Christians, and the false prophet could be the Mahdi. Everyone will say peace has come. Warren is a pop star preacher doing pop things, and Islam is becoming pop. What’s a little apostasy these days?
So, does this mean the Libs will like Rev. Warren now?

Instead of backbiting, let’s all pray the Warren preaches the Gospel to the muslims.

You sound like a NAMBLA/GLADD spokeman.
If you are referring to Word of Faith, and thier ilk, I would agree that their beliefs do not come from the Bible. They would not fall under the vernacular Fundy which is usually used by the homosexual community as a derogatory term for all Christians that do not believe in homosexual marriage.
Fundimentalisism covers a number of groups, most promote the “Christ alone” theory of salvation which would be very different from what this thread is discussing.

I guess that depends on how you define "fundy". Typically, "social gospel" types like Warren are not considered "fundy".

For him to attend that meeting means that he doesn’t accept Christianity and that he is bowing down in willing submission before the world-domination movement cleverly disguised as a religion.
If I was invited to speak to a muslim group, I wonder how I would handle it?
I figure if they’ve invited you, knowing what you believe, then they must want to hear more of it. Preach Christ and wind up with the invitation just like you would anywhere else.
If Warren will do that, he’ll have my respect. If not, he should skip this venue.

Warren’s church is not “evangelical”, nor is he a “Christian Leader”. At least not one I’ve every recognized. His book was interesting, that’s about all I can think of nice to say about him.
Not surprising to me. Warren is a media hound. No solid biblical convictions. Very sadly, a false preacher, in my opinion, leading many people astray and many people to hell.
Warren was a heretic before this, and whether it's true or not, he'll be a heretic after.

Wrong. The correct statement might have been “Rev. Warren has become one of the most well known American Christian ministers”.
I don’t think he is a “leader” outside of his own Church.
