'Ark' revelation: Can they dig it? (Ark of the Covenant announcement 8 AM eastern)

Bible buzz begins as hunters wait to view Ten Commandments box

Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts are buzzing about a report that the Ark of the Covenant, the ancient container that holds the Ten Commandments, is expected to be unveiled in Rome today.

As WND reported, the patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world the unveiling of the Ark, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries."

According to the Italian news agency, the announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time (8 a.m. Eastern) from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome. Pauolos will reportedly be accompanied by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo D'Acosta.

"The Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia for many centuries," said Pauolos. "As a patriarch I have seen it with my own eyes and only few highly qualified persons could do the same, until now."

Bob Cornuke, biblical investigator, international explorer and best-selling author, has participated in more than 27 expeditions around the world searching for lost locations described in the Bible. A man some consider a real-life Indiana Jones, he has written a book titled "Relic Quest" about the Ark of the Covenant and participated in History Channel production called "Digging for Truth."

The new is that we're all still here, but maybe it takes awhile for the rapture or whatever to get here from Rome.

I never thought I would see this day. The Ethipians have long claimed to have the Ark. The small building that contains the Ark is behind a fence that is guarded by one man. This has been going on for centuries at least. And all this time nobody has forcibly entered the building to get to the Ark. Not Mussolini or even Arabs.
The Ethiopians claim that King Soloman gave the Ark to the Queen of Sheba for safe keeping. When the Assyrians sacked the temple it was never mentioned that they stole the great Ark. If they did I would think it would have been mentioned. So where was it? Not at the temple.
Check out this story, the Ethiopian church near where it is supposedly stored is fantastic.

Isn’t that when they started to get boils, etc, and sent it back via ox & cart?

Or was that another time the Ark was captured?

You said — Ark of the Covenant led the Jews out of Egypt, holds the ten commandments, maybe a rod and some manna.

Well, to get into the details of the matter, the Ark of the Covenant didn’t lead the Jews out of Egypt. The Ark of the Covenant was built a considerable length of time after the Egyptians were all drowned and gone (that were chasing them). The Ark of the Convenant was built later.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

And then you were saying — The Ark was also carried before the Jews into battle and is reputed to have assured their success.

The trouble is, it didn’t always “work” for them that way, all the time. That’s because it wasn’t the Ark of the Covenant that was insuring their win in the battle but rather, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who was. And sometimes, He didn’t, and thus, the “Ark of the Covenant” was shown to not guarantee their win... :-)

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

And lastly you said — Mystery has it that the Ark is returned to The Temple before the End of Days.

Ummm..., that would be better stated as “Speculation has it that the Ark is returned to the Temple before the End of Days”... LOL...

I don’t find that in the Bible anywhere. It may be and then again it may not be. We’re not told and it’s pure speculation (as opposed to other things in the Bible where we are told of some things that will happen at the last of the End Days.

By the way, we’ve been in the “End Days” since the time of Pentecost, when Peter gave his sermon to the Jews. In other words, the “End Days” has been about 2,000 years long, (almost) thus far...

And that’s why it’s more accurately described as the last of the End Days, rather than the End Days (because your entire life has been lived in the End Days, thus far...).

And for the rest of you on the ping, here is more “Ark of the Covenant” stuff... :-)

Thought the Ark was stored in some obscure government warehouse.

Right next to the vault full of Democrat Party tax cuts and morals.
