Iraqi WMD Mystery Solved
FrontPageMagazine ^ | By Jamie Glazov

Posted on 07/02/2009 9:10:32 AM PDT by Strategy

It has been confirmed across the board that 18-wheelers were seen going into Syria before the war, crossing the border soon after Iraqi intelligence replaced the border guards and cleared nearby areas for their passage. There are also eyewitness reports of the trucks going into Syria, and eyewitness reports of their burial in Lebanon.

The trucks with the weapons were tracked to three locations in Syria and Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, currently controlled by the Syrians, Iranians, and Hezbollah. Sources I've spoken with that have seen satellite photos of the movements confirm that the WMD in Syria are at military bases, while the ones in Lebanon are buried. A fourth site in Syria, the al-Safir WMD and missile site, should also be looked at. From spring to summer 2002, there was a lot of construction here involving the expansion of underground complexes.

Get real....most likely the left would say it was a
“photo-op” falsely made by the military to justify an
unjust war...the leftists are such brainwashed folk they
couldn’t make a correct judgment an anything if the judgement
would invalidate their beliefs....

There are scientists who say that Saddam was SEEKING WMD but they say that they subverted his plans and saw that fruitful production did not occur.

Doesn’t matter.

He was akin to a felon out on parole attempting to buy a firearm. The attempt is in violation of his parole. Saddam was in violation of the original peace agreement from Gulf War I.

I’ve always harbored a suspicion the WMDs surrendered by Libya originated in Iraq.

Early on, I heard a woman calling from Iraq on CNBC when Baghdad fell. She said she witnessed documments that confirmed WMD in Iraq being handed to CNN by Iraqi military.

This is circumstantial, but the Libyans gave up their program and somehow Syria had a nuke plant blown to smitherines and then covered everything up like it had never existed.

It’s not a stretch for me to believe Saddam sent his raw materials/enriched, fissionable materials to another Ba’athist country. It’s also not a stretch for me to believe that because for 8+ years the US heard nothing but hate for W and conservatives—nearly a decade—there are people who do not think otherwise because they have never heard counterarguments, especially from what we now know is in fact enemedia. I also happen to believe that producing proof might have endangered who knows what operations and field personnel.

At least there are tens of thousands of trained military personnel now with battlefield experience. Bless those in Afg-Pak in the fight now, and may business be very, very good.

Strictly a WHAT IF post ...

WHAT IF ...

We actually found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq ... What if we did not want the world to know the entire truth ...

What if the weapons found were the original spores to bio weapons or precursor chemicals to chemical weapons BUT were all items WE (the WEST) gave Saddam.

What if Saddam sent some small pieces of the program across the borders which we did not grab ... but we grabbed other stuff under the radar?

Just asking ...

We’d never know the truth.

If we are to believe our intelligence agencies were so far off there was no WMD, who’s to say that any of this isn’t an elaborate conspiracy.

To often we fault our intelligence capabilities ... I for once WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE they are way smarter than we give them credit for.

It’s probably wishful thinking.

Then again, they do say if there is a successful intelligence operation; you never hear about it. Only operations which end in disaster are what is known to the public.

Who Really Knows the truth ...

It’s been suggested to me most the gas and other WMD’s were sent to Syria. I’ve always surmised the WMD trail led to Syria but the proof is on the trail and if the trail is top secret it’s best to keep it that way. I’m willing to bet Israel has better hard evidence than we do...but I am not a gambler.

nonsense

Not felt to be nonsense in Israel. Remember the sudden bombing run from Israel into the facility in Lebanon a couple years ago, north of the capitol? They would not let reporters get within two miles, all photos were taken with high power telephotos. The skuttlebutt was that it was a never gas storage site. If reporters had gone to take pictures, they would have become part of the landscape.

Just a FYI

Damn he sure is well accomplished for 16.

Jamie Glazov is Frontpage Magazine's editor. He holds a Ph.D. in History with a specialty in Russian, U.S. and Canadian foreign policy. He is the author of Canadian Policy Toward Khrushchev’s Soviet Union and is the co-editor (with David Horowitz) of The Hate America Left. He edited and wrote the introduction to David Horowitz’s Left Illusions. His new book is United in Hate: The Left's Romance with Tyranny and Terror.

And even if you took 3 years off this picture he looks like he would be older than 16.

I've known about this since 2004. It was in a Dutch publication, in De Telegraaf.

Just because you're 16 doesn't mean you're a clueless moron.

I have all sorts of people saying just that on another thread.

Positions change according to the thread I guess.

I believe that Saddam had WMD, but this article is 3 years old and that guy Ryan Mauro was a teenager at the time. He has no time in service, not military, intelligence or otherwise. Moreover, he didn’t even have a college degree.

You are right - it was, and it always will be despite the naysayers with their heads in the sand. ‘Long ‘bout 2040, the true story of the BASH* will be written.
