What If Palin Were President?

Can you believe the gall of these Sarah Palin cultists? Presidential aspirations? This is a woman who named one of her kids "Track," for God's sake. (Well, if it really is her kid.)

William Buckley once wrote that he rather would "entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University."

But running government is no longer a suitable vocation for the bumbling proletariat. It's for folks with schoolin' and such. It's a job for herculean thinkers with degrees from Ivy League schools. In other words, no one from Alaska need apply.

Former sports reporters certainly won't do. We need former constitutional scholars. Who else, after all, has a better understanding of how to undermine the document?

Really, where would we be if a bumpkin like Palin were president? With her brainpower, we probably would be stuck with a Cabinet full of tax cheats, retreads and moralizing social engineers.

If Palin were president, chances are we'd have a gaffe-generating motormouth for a vice president. That's the kind of decision-making one expects from Miss Congeniality.

The job of building generational debt is not for the unsophisticated. Enriching political donors with taxpayer dollars takes intellectual prowess, not the skills of a moose-hunting point guard.

The talent to print money we don't have to pay for programs we can't afford is the work of a finely tuned imagination, soaring gravitas and endless policy know-how.

Palin is so clueless she probably would have rushed through some colossal stimulus plan that ended up stimulating nothing.

If Palin were president, no one doubts this nation would have continued the Bush-era policy of indefinite detention of enemy combatants and the CIA's program of transferring prisoners to other countries without legal rights. Be...

I'd rather have an honest woman than this dishonest, marxist mediocrity. In case somebody doesn't get it, this was satire.

Why of course it’s satire! Haw!

Okay. The kind of satire the guys who go to ivy league schools and whose imaginations soar and can drum up stimulus bill overnight and stuff like that will get. It soars over the head of a guy like me.

If Palin were President we’d have someone who understands limited government.

As evidenced by Keith Olbermann’s lack of intellectual skills, sardonic humor of a political nature simply goes over the head of the liberal elite.

Let me repeat what you just said, because its exactly how I see it. I would rather be governed by this honest woman than any of the marxist mediocrities we’ve got in there now. In fact I’d rather be governed by this honest woman than any of the mediocrities in either party I see coming out of the woodwork trying to take her down.

Just to give it context, when they are going after her supposed lack of intellect, I remember a few years ago when almost every article about Al Gore reminded us what a giant intellect he was. I wish I had a buck for every mention of his supposed intellectual prowess. When, to anyone paying attention, the guy is a bit dim, not to mention borderline crazy. He’s dim. What can I say. And no one writing about him ever seemed to notice it because, essentially, he agreed with them. And frankly, if you’re not smart enough to notice that Al Gore is dim, you’re not that bright yourself.

And these are the dimbulbs that presume to comment on Palin’s supposed lack of erudition. This is the party of Biden and Pelosi, for heaven’s sake.

I Still Hate You, Sarah Palin - The Republicans bring a knife to a gunfight, and lose again.

I was quite surprised at the number of those who didn't get it on that thread.

If Palin were president, we wouldn't be in debt up to our asses like we are right now. I'd rather deal with the scorn of a woman then the idiocies of a marxist.

Maybe Palin will indeed be president.

“Murdoch said he was “shocked” at the sour mood media executives are in regarding their own businesses and the economy in general. Some, he said, are predicting “five years at least” before seeing real economic growth return.

He predicted that, positive press not withstanding, opinions among Americans about Obama could sour significantly by year’s end if the economy doesn’t improve.”

For one thing we wouldn’t need to be concerned with the threat to this nation that Sonia sotomayor presents.

This is the party of Biden and Pelosi, for heaven’s sake.

And the party that brought us the Echelon program, Chinagate, an impeached president, and Vietnam, and 444 days in Tehran.

If Sarah were President, I could sleep safely at night, knowing she isn’t bowing down to dictators and shaking hands with tyrants. I’d know that we are not putting our children and grandchildren into a debt they will never be able to pay back. I’d know that she wouldn’t go around apologizing for America’s “arrogance.”

But, not very good satire. In fact, I'd say its imbecilic satire at best.
