Obama's healthcare bureaucracy 'frightening'

A Republican member of the House Ways and Means Committee says America can't afford to pay for the Democrats' government-run healthcare plan, just like it couldn't afford to pay for the stimulus and cap-and-trade bills.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) stated recently that the American people back Democrats' trillion-dollar healthcare plan, which will create $550 billion in new taxes over 10 years. "Over the coming days, Congress will continue working with President Obama to provide stable prices, secure coverage, and quality care for all Americans," Pelosi said. "We're very pleased we have the support not only of the doctors, but as you saw with President Obama the other day, the nurses -- and we certainly have the support of the American people."

Congressman Kevin Brady (R-Texas), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, says the majority in Congress is bent on passing the legislation before July 31.

You think it’s maddening dealing with some DMV drone who doesn’t know and doesn’t care?

Wait til Sally Satchelass the bureaucrat is in charge of health care - on that everyday mundane level that politicians can’t be bothered with. She rides the Metro in from her generic tan-sided 2nd floor condo. Her cubicle has her little troll doll on top of her monitor and an American Idol calendar on the wall (she still maintains Clay Aiken is straight). A photograph from her cut-rate Carnival cruise (just her and her hefty girlfriend with curly straws and frozen drinks) says “hey behind these plus-sized trousers is a party animal.”

Sally doesn’t like herself very much. She likes you even less you anonymous upper-middle-class happily married suburbanite with two kids, an SUV and a motorcycle or a powerboat.

You see, Sally cares about the less fortunate, the downtrodden, the victims of lifelong institutional racism, sexism and size-ism. She’s got a COEXIST bumper sticker on her Prius.

You have it all, she thinks. Except your child needs a surgical procedure. Could be a kidney, could be a congenital heart defect, could be a sports injury (sports are dangerous and teach competition anyway).

Sally is supposed to consult actuarial charts, availability reports and other impartial determinants to schedule your child’s operation. But Sally says to hell with that. Sally applies the electronic equivalent of a red pencil and delays or even denies your child’s operation. She’s not worried about supervisory review because she and her boss (her boss is the unmarried guy in his 40s that people keep spreading mean rumors about) are friends. In fact, they often eat lunch together - alone - in the cafeteria.

Your ‘leaders’ in DC want to put these two passive aggressive sad sacks, full of self-loathing and even more loathing of the public in charge of life and death decisions.

Madness.

OBAMA.."Change means keeping the promise of affordable, accessible health care for every single American. Under my plan, if you have health insurance, nothing changes for you, except that my plan will lower your health care costs. If you don’t, you’ll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves".

Promises, promises..

There’s a big difference between being “able to” and being forced to . . .

And that’s one of my big objections.

Also, we have seen, haven’t we, that once the bill is signed into law that no new private policies can be sold? And that citizens will have to prove to the IRS that they have coverage, else be fined and automatically enrolled in something?

The Republicans and blue dog dems are keeping their spines straight!
