I attended "office Hours" at an Austin Randalls, for Congressman Lloyd Doggett today, supposed to be 11-12:30.
Hey Lloyd, ain’t any protestors over at Louie Gohmert’s office!
What are the chances of defeating Doggett in 2010?
From what I have read, he was won past elections by wide margins.
PLEASE TAKE VIDEO RECORDERS TO THESE EVENTS!!!!
Nothing is as effective as a video tape, showing smug, arrogant, question-dodging thugs running from the people they were hired to SERVE!!
We need to have people with recorders at all of these meetings, everywhere across the country.
He he! And we’re talking Austin, the most liberal city in the state.
They aren't quite so brave when they get out of Washington and no longer have Capitol Hill Security watching their backs.
Good for you and all the other good folks. Doggett is so crooked he can hide behind a corkscrew. When he dies, they will just screw him into the ground.
If you have an Austin ping list, please add me to it. I live in Representative Lamar S. Smith’s [U.S. House District 21] but work in Austin.
Great work! LLiberal LLoyd is going to vote for this boondoggle no matter how many angry voters show up. So the real objective is to take these “town halls” and turn them into videotaped shoutdowns.
Maybe the Blue Dogs will listen but I doubt hardcore leftists like LLiberal LLoyd will flinch. But the videos can get put on YouTube and maybe convince some fence-sitters to get involved.
Great report!
GREAT report!
I hope and pray that the same is happening all across this great land!
This piece of garbage is my Rep. I don’t think he has represented me one time. If I would have known about this I would have driven to Austin and it would have been 301.
PLEASE TAKE VIDEO RECORDERS TO THESE EVENTS!!!! Not only that it is proof we are civil when they say we were an unruly mob.
I think a more effective chant would be "Don't kill Grandma"
Alas, that district is hopeless. Doggett is king there. Just like Cuellar in his district.
This is one of those salamander districts that includes Austin, Bastrop, and McAllen far to the south.
He is voting as his constituents wish, as these overakk districgt voters are probably 60 percent socialist. They think government creates no problems and can solve all with sufficient funding.
There is no District 45 in TX for the U.S. House, as TX has only thirty-two districts.
He’s as dumb as a bag of rocks......Keep ROCKING him!
He wouldn’t by chance have tried to hold this meeting in the produce section, did he? It would have been too tempting to throw something at him.
Doggett’s Bastrop fiasco didn’t go much better. In a city that is deep blue, 1/3 of the crowd at City Hall was protesters. Doggett then moved on to the Kerr Community Center (an old black church), under a police escort, where at least 1/3 of the people were protesters.
The blue t-shirts (Bastrop County Democratic Party) tried to shut the protesters down. On blue shirted lady tried to get the Bastrop PD to make the protesters leave. She didn’t have any luck. But there was some pushing and shoving of one protester, who filed charges and a African American guy threatened an older lady and told her if she didn’t shut the hell up, after she yelled at Doggett if he would go on the public plan himself, she would suffer the consequences. She asked the guy if he was threatening her and he repeated what he said, that she would suffer the consequences if she didn’t shut up. She also filed a police complaint and was visably shaken by being threatened.
Doggett gave his “this health care bill is wonderful, it just screws senior citizens” speech and when it came time to answer questions, he clearly only called on people he knew were Democrats. This angered the protesters who knew what he was doing. Some of the blue shirts yelled at the protesters and told them that Doggett had come to talk to them, not the protesters.
I left early because it was getting pretty shakey and I was afraid there was a possibility it was going to get out of control.
Doggett didn’t exactly get the reception he expected in deep blue Bastrop.
DUMP DOGGETT ‘10
You know who mostly lives in Bastrop, don’t you?
Besides the farmers and ranchers that have been there for decades, the residents are mostly City of Austin and Travis County employees that don’t want to actually live in or send their children to the socialist mess they make for everyone else.
