(CNSNews.com) - Appearing on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” yesterday, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner floated President Obama’s next big move: a tax increase on middle-class Americans.
Geithner made it clear during the interview that the administration believes that new federal revenues are needed and he declined to rule out raising taxes on Americans earning less than $250,000 per year to get those revenues.
During the interview, host George Stephanopoulos pointed out to Geithner that the “Congressional Budget Office estimates that your budget will add $9 trillion to the national debt over the next decade.”
Stephanopoulos also noted that former Clinton Administration Deputy Treasury Secretary Roger Altman has said that a tax increase is needed.
“[I]independent analysts also say ... you're going to have to find new government revenues,” said Stephanopoulos. “The former deputy treasury secretary, Roger Altman, said: ‘It is no longer a matter of whether tax revenues must increase, but how.’ Is he right?”
Geither did not disagree with Altman.

The next big media push will be the deficit. Something they have completely ignored since Obama was elected. No mention whatsoever of Zero's reckless spending and it's effect. Now it's time to lay the groundwork for Obama’s long planned tax increases.
I did a news search on liberal msn.com* and couldn't find a single story written this year posted on that site concerning the deficit. However during the Bush era this site shrieked incessantly about Bush's debt.
*Also did a search on homelessness and what do you know... This problem has apparently been completely eradicated by the Kenyan.

I cannot imagine the reaction when the various sorts of checks stop appearing. The administration and congress and many governors can’t imagine it either. Therefore: taxes will rise.

And, by doing so, the Government will begin running so well and efficient, that it will actually save us money in the long run. Like Health Care, which will actually be so much cheaper, abundant, efficient and will prevent so many potential diseases due to regular health maintenance and superior care and technology.
And, don't forget, this will greatly increase the economic health of the country and actually greatly reduce the deficit. Why, it will even create a budget surplus and eliminate the debt much more quickly.
So, trust our Dear Leader and Emperor Obama. It will be an INVESTMENT in our future. And who else can better manage our money than this wonderful Government we now have! A Democrat who doesn’t raise taxes hasn’t been around since that November day when JFK was shot. Expect more taxes to come until we are all in welfare. But, Hey! at least we will have healthcare! So who is surprised by this? Conservatives knew Obama was lying about the tax cut. Liberals NEVER cut taxes, they only increase them.
