Freepers and other concerned citizens gathered to protest the Health Care Bill in Buffalo at a fund raiser for Democrat Brian Higgins. Higgins had already said he would support the bill.
About 200 protestors gathered to shout and laugh at about 2 dozen mindless supporters.
The supporters had such convincing arguments such as "Health care for people not for profit" but a shouted question of "What's wrong with profit?" confused their addled brains significantly
"Read The Constitution" and "No to Socialism" broght no coherant reply.
A young supoporter asked "What wrong with socialism?" to some laughter and embarrassment (for his own side.)
Mr. K (me) was there with his three amazingly beautiful but costly daughters who are getting so brilliant that they immediately understood the questions at hand.
When it was explained that Governemnt Health care would be decided by the governement, but that 'the government' was actually people like that next door neighbor whose cat always craps in the yard, they didn't like that idea.
And if their father needs heart surgery but the neighbors mother also needs heart surgery- and HE GETS TO DECIDE WHERE TO SPEND THE MONEY made them even less likely to be convinced by any liberal publc school indoctrination- Mr K saw them using that same argument themselves that same day.
The Coward Higgins must have snuck in the back way because he never showed his face to either group.
Chants of "Brain is a coward" did not result in the coward's appearance.
Supporters also seemed confused when it was pointed out that THEIR MAN was in there at a FUND RAISER - so 'profits' must not be so evil if they come to you...
Other signs said "Politicaian for sale- $30 inside".
One support started screaming "health care is a RIGHT!" but got a dumb look on his face when it was explained that no one has a RIGHT to somoene else's money
"We are PRO CHOICE (for health care)" also seemed similary confusing to them.
Numerous cars honked and beeped in enthusiastic support- which always quieted them down and saddened them a bit.
Protestors were polite and cheerful, while supporters seemd to get angry and red faced when all they could produce was mindless slogans.
The sum total of their position that day seemed to be that profits were evil and health care is a right.
None of them were able to explain how the government would run Health care when it cannot run Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Cash For Clunkers, etc. One of them actually shouted "The governemt runs The Post Office! which drew considerable laughter. WE really think he meant it as a compliment, and maybe did not understand that the post office loses money.
The coward Higgins had no repsonse to media questions for The News either, and no town hall is planned.
Media coverage was as expected- wide shots of the small group described as 'dozens of supporters" with close shots of protester (nuber not mentions) giving the impression it was even or even more suppoorters, when the reality was AT LEAST a 5 to 1 in favor of the protesters.
Local Activist Rus Thompson was there making his usual common sense, and Lawyer James Ostrowski passed out pamphlets on basic economics that maybe even liberals can understand. We offered to read it to the, if they went to public school. These pamphlets are available by contacting this poster.
Ostrowski gathered much local (NYState) attention when he filed a lawsuit against state funds going to private corporations. NYState law SPECIFICALLY prohibits that (in rare, understandable legal language)
NY Appeals court is passing the buck and that issue because it appears no one has the courage to make a ruling on such a clear issue, not unlike the Coward Higgins.

They slept early after all the excitement, allowing Mr. K (me) to write this report) detailing how proud he is of them.
Comments on how lovely they are can be left at http://mkosak.hi5.com
Like man, I can appreciate an honest lefty. One who does not lie. There is much more hope for him than for Obama.
Anything to add?
Your family is as lovely as you are eloquent.
GO BILLS!
it just happend at 5-7PM EST
maybe not in the news paper yet- but it was on local TV
T.O. looks good in training camp!
He seemed genuinely moved by the warm reception on his arrival at the airport.
After all the press I was not expecting someone as well spoken and he showed much class on his arrive, talking to the fans that showed up in the middle of the night to welcome him to Buffalo.
Give him time. He has a way of being disruptive and I don’t think he can stop himself.
Brian Higgins is a mindless aparatchik. I actually voted for him, when times were less troubled, but now he has sided with stimulus, cap and trade, and obamacare. He is showing his true colors.
His seat is ripe for the picking in 2010. Any presentable candidate running against him should be able to win.
Good going! Great. Was surrounded by grey haired hippy type lefties at Santa Cruz (CA) spouting 60’s stuff. Got lots of thumbs up from the crowd that looked like they had jobs.
oh! that reminded me of another one
We started chanting “Get a job” “Get a job”
and they started with “We have jobs”
So I shouted “How many of you work for the government?”
There was lots of anxious looking back and forth at each other- but TOTAL SILENCE- except for the laughter on our side
(and i have lost my voice so bad it actually hurts)
Good job! Thanks for the report.
What is the district like?
Three things I could always tell when Bills fans came to town and took over the bars & restaurants.
1. They had money.
2. They liked to drink. ;-)
3. Less obnoxious than Jets fans.
Great report Mr K, we had fun. Many people told me that this was their first protest and would not be their last. 2 and 7 had a pretty good report, even YNN was there, Wben is playing sound bytes of my interview last night.
Bauerle called me on the way home as he was curious as to how it went. Wish he was gonna be on. I will upload some pics and post them.
Thanks for being there with your girls. And yes they are getting very smart indeed.

Not only did we outnumber them about 5 to 1 (Thanks The Mayor!), but we were GENUINE! We showed up carrying our own signs created by us individually. The supporters showed up empty handed to be given a sign from a stack of them that were brought in by ONE person. Which side had PASSION!
I thought it was sacrilege when they held up Old Glory. The Gadsden flag was flying with us.

EXCELLENT points.
The *choice* argument was one I also considered. My choice in healthcare should not be limited to whether or not I can have an abortion. It's my body, I have a right to make my own health care decisions. Nobody has the right to tell me what I can do with my own body.
*sigh* Libs are sooooo easy......
GO SABRES!
