Sarah Palin MUST challenge the President to a Health Care debate
Maverick68

Posted on 08/13/2009 7:45:29 AM PDT by Maverick68

Folks, I think the time has come: Sarah Palin MUST challenge President Obama to a televised debate on Health Care reform, especially as it pertains to the bill before Congress. Now, I know for a FACT that Obama would NEVER accept the challenge, but it is a challenge Ms. Palin has to make. A refusal by the President exposes him for the intellectual fraud that he is. Accepting the debate challenge would expose him even further, because the bill is indefenseable. Former Gov. Palin: I urge you to make the challenge to the President, the only condition being that the debate would be held SANS TELEPROMPTERS. You can take the lead in this debate! Fellow Freepers, I implore you to forward this post or similar posts to ALL your friends, neighbors, local talk show hosts asking the former Alaskan Governor to CHALLENGE the President to a debate....

I guess you didn’t watch the same debate the rest of us did...

I am sorry to inform you that your view of the Palin/Biden debate does not come close to any kind of objectivity. It was a complete embarrassment.

“Is using the term ‘Kenyan Mutt’ really helpful? A ‘mutt’ imples there is something wrong with someone who has the DNA of two different races.”

Something “wrong” with him? I’ve had mutts all my life...they happen to be good and usually pretty smart. Nothing wrong with them at all. What kind of an interpretation is that? Straight from the SF Lideral PC library? Wikipedia? Is this going to end up on DU?

Read this;

President-Elect Obama May Get a Mutt ‘Like Me’

The main topic of the day was the economy, but President-elect Barack Obama did say Friday, at his first press conference since his election, that he is dealing with a topic close to home.

“With respect to the dog,” said Obama, “this is a major issue.” He said it has generated the most interest on his Web site, but before a new addition is made to the family, “two criteria that have to be reconciled.”

One is that elder daughter Malia, 10, “is allergic, so it has to be hypoallergenic.” The other is that “our preference would be to get a shelter dog,” which would point to the possiblity of a mixed breed, or, as Obama said, “a mutt, like me.”

Maybe she should be more measured in her delivery. I find that she speaks in my parlance. The last time she made her speech, at the swearing if of the Lt. Gov., she talked of melting into Washingon’s caring, protective embrace. I would speak that way to my friends. Similarly with the ‘death panels’, it’s what I would say to my friends. If I were making a speech, I probably would remove that kind of terminology. But perhaps that’s what makes her a different kind of politician. She’s not scripted, hence the emotional resonance she finds with (part of) the electorate.

I work in the health care industry. I have heard Newt speak on the topic several times. He is the ONLY politician (short of Tom Coburn and a couple of other docs —Howard Dean is notably absent from that list) who can speak intelligently and comprehensively on the subject without a list of talking points.

Just read her rebuttal and it hit the mark again and again.
Obama’s health care “reform” must be stopped at all costs and glad Sarah has taken him on. Especially since the GOP in the US Congress seems to be unable to mount an offense.

We don’t want to elevate Obama. His numbers are tanking and he is losing the health care debate. Sarah is doing just what she needs to do - be a rational/logical thorn in his side.

Sarah debating Obama would be like the US “negotiating” with Imamadnutjob in Iran. It only makes the tyrant look more reasonable.

BTW - Sarah would make Obama look like a three year old. The over/under on the number of Obama “Uhs” or “Ums” during the debate would be about 500. He couldn’t explain this disaster if he tried. He would simply continue the lies and all of his zombies would either swoon or get that odd tingle up their legs.

How so? It is acknowledged that he made 17 policy errors in that debate.

Palin handled Biden extremely well, your one sentence zingers may serve your ends but they don’t carry any weight.

You aren’t even being truthful in them.

Regarding Palin’s “folksy” delivery:
I find it interesting that many claim to be tired of the same old “political speak” coming from politicians, but shrink away at the extremely effective straight-talk that Palin engages in.
Real “change” will only come from a Washington outsider that refuses to engage in the slick political verbage of the status quo in DC....

I actually just think they should have a duel.

I like it.

AR-15s at 100 yards, offhand.

Sarah just need to continue to make controlled statements. No way BO goes at her head on it will be the Carvells and Begalas that attack her. As an ex-govenor she can point out the impact to the states and show more superiority of knowledge than BO. It’ll make the fawning white guilt media look more stupid than they are as they continue the “knowledge” attacks on Palin and create even mor dissent(maybe among the govenors).

Dumb tactical move. By using her Facebook page as her medium, she’s already getting her message out and driving both the libs and RINOs crazy.

Folks, I think the time has come: Cross the Rubicon

I've never heard of the POTUS debating a US governor one-on-one, and Palin is no longer a governor - she's a private citizen. No one would expect Obama to agree to this, and he won't.

I like Palin and hope she can step up to capture the GOP nomination and the WH in 2012, but this would just be seen as an empty gesture further undermining her credibility. Palin needs to make substantive speeches and write persuasive articles against Obama's policies - futile grandstanding will only hurt her.
