State Farm Response on Glenn Beck show

Posted on 08/18/2009 6:09:37 PM PDT by ltrman61

After contacting State Farm Insurance and letting them know I was a policy holder I asked them about the pulling of their ad from the Glenn Beck show. This is what I received.

Thank you for your recent e-mail concerning State Farm’s advertising on the Fox network.

We have a policy of not advertising on political or opinion programming regardless of the network. These ads were mistakenly aired, we have corrected this issue and have taken steps to make sure it does not happen again.

Understanding our millions of customers and thousands of associates hold a full spectrum of views on political issues, State Farm has a long-standing practice of not advertising in political discussion programming regardless of a program’s political point of view.

Thank you for your e-mail and your continued support of State Farm Insurance, both are greatly appreciated.

Can anyone verify this or is this corporate CYA? They "mistakenly" aired them? Sounds like BS. I swear I have seen them advertise on other Fox programs...Bill O? Others?

These companies have been gotten to by Rahms operation. The Democrats made them an offer they could not refuse.

Can anyone verify this...

Glenn Beck probably can. Have you e-mailed him or tried calling his radio show?

My reply would go something like this:

An honest relationship is based on trust. Your response is too coincidental and the timing is too suspicious. Unless you can show me something that demonstratively indicates a preexisting corporate policy of not advertising on “political discussion programming” our trust is broken and our relationship is finished.

But you have to be prepared to follow through...

I have always noticed State Farm advertising during sporting events. I cannot recall seeing one on Fox, although Progressive and Geico are all over Fox.

BTW, Geico and Progressive are not a great deal...Insure through your local independent agent and exclude the liberal insureres from the pick.

No I haven’t, but that is a good idea. I would like to see something in writing that backs up this claim about not advertising on political programs.

State Farm best consider what has just happened to AARP. Can they afford to loose 60,000 customers?

Geico is a commie outfit and they bailed on me, refusing to represent us after a airhead driver t-boned my wife and three young kids after running a stop sign.

They had investigators working for weeks to deny us coverage even though I had been paying for a policy on the vehicle for years.

Wouldn’t recommend them.

Their non-politics policy certainly didn’t hold when they paid for BJ Clinton’s legal bills during his “other women” escapades. They paid his bills because of a Homeowner’s Policy. Yes, I recall that history and DID HAVE insurance with State Farm when it occurred. No longer.

Rahm’s hasn’t gotten the concept of proper intimidation. He’s been slicing off his own fingers at Arby’s and sending them to Obama enemies.

Good response. I think I will use it if you don’t mind. I’ll be interested to see what they come back with.

These companies have been gotten to by Rahms operation.

And when does Rahlm tell these companies not to sell insurance to conservatives? Or food?
