Obama's parents didn't live at newspaper birth address
WorldNetDaily ^ | August 18, 2009 | Jerome R. Corsi

Additional documents uncovered by WND support a previous report that President Obama's parents did not live together as husband and wife at the Honolulu address listed in birth announcements in two local newspapers.

Both newspapers, the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, carried the announcement that Barack Obama Jr. was born Aug. 4, 1961, to Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, residing at 6085 Kalanianaole Highway in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Additional research has established that the grandparents, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, lived at 6085 Kalanianaole Highway, not Barack Obama Sr. and Ann Dunham.

Moreover, Mr. and Mrs. Obama apparently did not live together after their marriage, with Dunham evidently remaining in the rented 6085 Kalanianaole Highway house.

Barack Obama Sr. lived alone at an 11th Avenue address in Honolulu, closer to the university. Dunham left Hawaii for Seattle in August 1961, the month of Barack Obama Jr.'s birth, to study at the University of Washington.

WND can find no listing in the Polk directories to document Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. ever living at the same address.

believe that the Dunhams PAID Obama Sr. to marry their daughter, in part because an African was a bit more acceptable than someone from the ghetto.

I doubt there was much, if any, of a ghetto in Hawaii in '61, at least not one with blacks in it. Chinese maybe. Remember while it wasn't quite true, BHO Sr was said to be the first black graduate of U. Hawaii. (The real first one was woman, and it was before BHO Sr was born). There just weren't many of African descent in the Islands in '61. Of course there were probably quite a few in Seattle. There were also plenty of dark skinned native Hawaiians in Hawaii, more so in '61 than today. One of those could have been the babydaddy I suppose.

You can’t write a fancy poetic narrative about your mother getting pregnant by some college athlete

In Hawaii in 1961, such an athelete would be unlikely to be black. Native Hawaiian, or other Pacific islanders maybe, those Samoans can be pretty big dudes, as are some Native Hawaiians. Although they canceled football in '61, for lack of fianances, although it returend the next season. That was only 5 years after having beaten Nebraska, 6-0, in Lincoln in '56, to avenge a 50-0 nothing blowout in Hawaii in '55. :)

A black sailor, soldier, airman or Marine, would seem more likely.

“Suppose a fund of $1 million was offered to a whistle blower. What would be the maximum sentence they would risk to leak actual information from the INS and/or the Passport office?”

******************************

Customs and Immigration records for Obama’s parents should be available through a FOIA request. Funny that WND’s team of ace investigators hasn’t tried that approach.

If Obama really were born in Kenya, there should be a record of U.S. entry for his parents in August 1961. IIRC, Ed Hale of Plains Radio was promising just such a record. Apparently it’s in the same box with the Michelle Obama “whitey” tape and the tape of her phone call to API “Chief Editor” Korir.

Your million dollar fund would be better spent offering a reward for foreign-born persons with Hawaii BC’s which state they were born in Hawaii to come forward. It’s an article of faith that Hawaii knowingly issues such. No legal risk for almost all such persons, and if true, there should be thousands of such persons. But nobody has brought forward any such person. No, Sun Yat-sen doesn’t count. His BC was obtained in 1904 by perjured testimony. Not the same as being issued as policy.

“It has been alleged that Ann Dunham Obama’s father, Stanley Armour Dunham, had been suspected of espionage during World War II.”

“Boeing reportedly has a 1944 security file on Stanley Armour in connection with suspected sabotage of B-17 aircraft at its Wichita, Kansas plant, and the theft of B-29 blueprints which made their way to the German intelligence agency, the Abwehr.”

************************

WOW! VERY CREDIBLE! [sarc]

So “it has been alleged” that Grampa Dunham “was suspected” of being a saboteur! And Boeing “reportedly” has a file, too! Just WHO “alleged” that and WHO “suspected” that, and who “reported” that, other than some anonymous guy on the internet? And how does he know? Someone needs to adjust his brain’s credulity setting.

“Has the same last name as the man who identified Eichmann so he could be tried for War Crimes - though Rahm’s father supposedly claims they weren’t related.”

Rahm’s family, the Auerbachs, changed their name to Emanuel in honor of Uncle Emanuel Auerbach, who was killed “in a skirmish” with Arabs in Jerusalem in 1933. See paragraph 7 at link:

thanks, now I think I understand the 'usefulness' of such a directory...handy for tracing people and stuffing mailboxes; are these directories still being published?

Yes, but there are on the internet now as well, or you can get the directory on CD-ROM. Although some of the information is probably harder for them to get now.

Polks still has a printed directory for Hawaii. Yahoo has a people search, I put in "Nordyke" and clicked on "Eleanor", it told me that she is 82 years old, (correct based on being 34 when her twins were born) it also told me that she was related to Robert (her husband) Susan and Gretchen (the twins) and James Nordyke. It told me that she was a "Population Research Fellow", a Member of a board of Managers and an Associate Editor. Intelius will give you even more information, and fill in more details, for a fee.

Bear in mind that Barack Sr.'s family was not poor. They were influential in Kenyan politics, and apparently were able to support him in college.

Onyango Obama worked as a cook for USIS staff in 1959. BO, Sr. attended UH on a scholarship and his expenses were paid through the efforts of  international literacy expert named Elizabeth Mooney Kirk.

None of the Obamas were involved in Kenyan politics. The Odingas, with whom BO, Sr. allied himself years later as a government employee, were Luo, and therefore possibly distantly related to the Obamas.

I don't know where you get your facts, but as you said, the Obamas were cousins to the Odingas. Blood relationships would be paramount for upward socioeconomic mobility in a tribal based society.

Now, unless the Obama family had some connections, there would be no way that benefactor Elizabeth Mooney Kirk's path would have crossed with Obama's. The idea of a Kenyan youth being sent off to study at an American university would have been a pipe dream to the average Kenyan family at the time.

BO, Sr. was the first Kenyan grad of UH, and possibly the first African, but he was definitely not the first black graduate.

There were also two large military installations: Pearl Harbor and Schofield Barracks -- the place Obama describes sneaking into to attend parties of "blacks" in his book.

And there's these excerpts  from Frank Marshall Davis' autobiography, "Livin' the Blues," in which he wrote extensively on the subject of race in Hawaii:

Page 312, regarding his impressions of Hawaii when he first moved there in 1949:

"After Japanese, whites were the largest ethnic group. But the Chinese, Korean, Filipinos, Puerto Ricans, Hawaiians, Samoans, Tongans, several hundred Afro-Americans, and smatterings of other Pacific peoples gave Honolulu away from Waikiki an overwhelmingly light brown to black look which my eyes hungrily devoured...."

"Virtually from the start I had a sense of human dignity. I felt that somehow I had been suddenly freed from the chains of white oppression...In Hawaii I had at last come into ownership of this birthright, stolen by the white power structure as a penalty of being black...It was a relief to soar at last with no wings clipped by the scissors of color."

Page 315

"And a large percentage of the nonwhite population could be transplanted to mainland ghettoes and accepted without question as black. I have seen kinky-haired Chinese and Japanese. There was then a good market here for Fuller's hair products. On the mainland I never thought of myself as anything but black. In Paradise I have been mistaken frequently for Hawaiian, Tongan, and Samoan."

And perhaps a clue as to the odd designation of BO, Sr.'s race as "African" on the COLB -- because the simple designation of "negro" or "black" might not be specific enough in Hawaiian culture:

"...local people are extremely aware of mixtures. A glance reveals that most souls are not "pure Africans"; instead they are considered "part colored, and the curious like to know what other strains are involved."

And this, from "Interracial Communication: theory into practice," by Mark P. Orbe and Tina M. Harris, 2007:

"Steeped in a strong tradition opposing rigid racial categories, [Hawaiian] residents have long used a variety of ways to describe themselves. including the creation of multiple ethnic and racial configurations. Despite this localized sociopolitical system, official racial designations changed when Hawaii became the 50th state in 1959. At that time, the U.S. Census Bureau imposed its monoracial categories on a population that had up until then had had little use for such categories...The strong tradition of affirming multi-racial heritages continues in Hawaii despite the attempts of the government agencies. This was demonstrated in the 1980 census when close to 70% of Hawaiian residents, not satisfied with the unrepresentative sampling of separate race categories, defined themselves as 'Other.'"

...why didn't they help Ann go with Sr to Harvard?

In the early 1960's, a much larger percentage of families didn't fund higher education for their daughters than is the case today.

As to the rest of it: again, I would advise "birthers", outside of the context of courts where the constitutional eligibility issue needs to be front and center, to harp on the lack of transparency (a.k.a. honesty and forthrightness). It's not just the long-form birth certificate that's been suppressed. In fact, don't even lead with that when talking to folks in general. Lead with why haven't we ever seen a detailed medical history for Obama? Why haven't we ever seen his college and law school transcipts? And remind them we saw Bush's--the left made fun of them in 2004 until it was noticed Kerry's Yale GPA was lower.

On the contrary, you do know where I get my facts, since I linked them.

So, everyone of the Kenyans on those airlifts were politically connected? Great theory.

Where are your facts?

I can tell you from personal experience that just about all foreign students studying at major American universities in the 1960s - especially those from underdeveloped countries - came from the upper socioeconomic classes in their native countries. And since those native countries had societies where wealth and political power were strongly correlated, it's a good bet that Obama Sr. didn't win his financial assistance to the U. of Hawaii by a lottery.

Airlifts? That word would imply that Obama Sr. was evacuated out of Kenya to the United States as a humanitarian gesture because of some disaster (e.g., war) occurring in his native land. That's a new facet of the Obama story I've never heard before. I believe that Obama Sr. first came to Hawaii in 1959, a few years before any "airlifts" to which you refer occurred, and that the contention that he came on an airlift was shown to have been yet another myth in the Obama story.

My point was that, no matter what the official racial designations were, Hawaiians were, and still are, resistant to using those designations. Heritage, and the countries of said heritage, are important to Hawaiians.

I can tell you from personal experience that...

Personal experience is by nature limited to a time and place. It is not applicable, by its nature to all times and all places.

I don't know where you were during the campaign, but the "Kenyan airlifts" were a major bone of contention in the spring of '08 -- so much so that the Washington Post called Obama out for his distortions of the truth:

Obama Overstates Kennedys' Role in Helping His Father

It really might be better if you refrain from commenting on topics with which you haven't familiarized yourself.

May be, but someone of the negroid race would have been called “Negro” not “African”.

BTW I lived in HI for years and I never heard any worry about “black” vs “African” or anything. Most used the word “popolo” anyway. If they were local.
