The Democrat's Horror: Almost ONE HUNDRED Dem seats in play in '10
data from Cook Partisan Voting Index | 8-18-09 | Dangus

Posted on 08/18/2009 8:30:21 PM PDT by dangus

The Democrats attained domination over the US House of Representatives not by convincing America that conservative beliefs were wrong, but by individualizing each Republican incumbent as part of a block of corruption and political tone-deafness. Dozens won Republican-leaning district while promising to vote conservatively. The Republican losers weren't so much those in the most moderate-to-left-leaning districts, but those to whom insinuations of scandal, incompetence and detachment most easily stuck. The result is an astonishing number of Democrats in otherwise Republican-leaning districts.

The Cook Political Report publishes the Cook Partisan Voting Index, measuring whether districts are more Democratic or more Republican than average. An incredible seventy-two Republican-leaning districts are currently held by Democrats. Twenty-seven more have Democratic margins of three percent or less. That's a total of ninety-nine districts which could be in play in a Republican tide.

The worst possible thing that could happen for these ninety-nine Democrats would be for the Democratic leadership to push through a health-care bill that would enrage the majority of voters. If that happened, their particular stance on health care wouldn't matter, only their vote for Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. And that's exactly what the Democratic leadership is planning on doing.

D+3: 11 districts

D+2: 7 districts

D+1: 7 districts

D<1: 1 district

R<1: 3 districts

R+1: 7 districts

R+2: 10 districts

R+3: 4 districts

R+4: 5 districts

R+5 or more: 43 districts

Seats needed to win House: 40

Seats needed to reach '95 Republican dominance: 53

Just as interesting would be if the incoming Republican freshman class was a very surly, conservative lot.

Imagine their reply if the sniveling RINO leaders suggested that “We should reach across the aisle to the Democrats and be extra generous to them, like we used to be...”

Quid Pro Quo, baby. The Democrats treated the Republicans like crap when they were in the majority. Payback is a biatch. The Republicans tried to play fair before and got burned bad.

No more Mister Nice Guy. Tear down the Frankenstein castle that the Democrats built, to the ruination of our nation.

I think I will look into a fund raising effort to buy a bus pass for Speaker Pelosi, as she will not get that private jet service, anymore.

She is despised in Wichita, an aircraft building town, for her lack of support for aviation (unless it is for HER private use!)

I am already planning to take the following day off so I can watch the fallout.

Got'sta rig up the hammock, portable tv, and a pony keg in a cooler. Should be a smash watching them implode. Best fireworks ever.

I think I’ll watch PMSNBC’s election night coverage in 2010......strong potential for on-air suicides.

Seems like it would be easy to make a case for needing a balance of power. It is so dangerous to have everything in the hands of ONE party, no checks and balances and they just ram stuff through. On those grounds alone anyone should vote the Democrats out.

I agree with both of you about the view of Americans.

But seriously, if the Dems push through amnesty and those illegals given the vote give power to Dems in perpetuity, what do you think Americans will do?

Do you really think they’ll take to arms and start shooting?

I don’t think they will. I think they’ll scream and complain and throw a bunch of rallies and protests and when all the dust settles...

they’ll go back to work on Monday, gritting their teeth, and the new political oligarchy (the DNC) will sit back and smile knowing that they are untouchable.

Trust me, I do hope I am completely wrong on this. But we’d be fools to rest on our laurels on this issue.

Obammie the Commie mentioned today about pushing talk of “immigration reform” off until next year. I believe it was a true statement and I believe it fits in with the communist strategy of throwing so many issues at us we don’t know which one to swing at and which one to duck. If they can get us stirred up about amnesty now, it will get us off government-run medical care and we’ll blow our steam by next year.

We must not let our guard down in the Primaries. The most Conservative rep must be on the ballot running against the Dem. For those that throw up the idea of “name recognition” wins elections, I throw right back at ya....Olympia Snowe. For cryin’ out loud. GET RID OF THE RINO’S!

In order to qualify to apply for U.S. Citizenship, a foreigner needs to have been a legal permanent resident of the United States for a minimum of 5 years.

But seriously, if the Dems push through amnesty and those illegals given the vote give power to Dems in perpetuity, what do you think Americans will do?

Do you really think they’ll take to arms and start shooting?

How much pressure and assault to basic liberty do you think the honest, law-abiding, patriotic citizens of America can take before they finally break?

Comes a point where there's nothing left to lose. Obama has nearly pushed us to that point already with his headlong rush to remake America in Vladimir Lenin's vision.

Even Democrats are overwhelmingly in opposition to amnesty for illegals. Heck, even my uber-lib, "progressive" brother from the left coast routinely sends me anti-illegal emails.

Legitimizing the illegals would break basic faith with Americans across the political spectrum - not just on our side. The political fallout from forcing such a thing through Congress would cause a complete meltdown of the Democrat establishment. The (political) blood wouldn't stop flowing for years to come.

Amnesty for illegals will be total political suicide for the Democrats if they foolishly attempt to push it through.

Oh, you mean according to “the law”?

Ha. That’s a good one.

Like the scumbags that run the legislative, executive, and judicial branches give one rat’s a$$ about the law.

If they can step in and take over a private enterprise and screw the bond holders out of the money that is contractually owed to them, work to pass laws to limit pay, and to take over 1/6th of the nation’s economy unconstitutionally, they’ll stop at nothing to guarantee themselves power for at least two generations.

Keep the pressure on full force. Call, fax, mail handwritten letters and go to townhalls.

I think they will not go for amnesty when the real unemployment rate is over 12% - where we are now.

Turn off the ball games and other BS on the TV.

I work with a Dem who hates O. They voted for McCain. They said they did not want the govt telling them what to do when it comes to healthcare.

I said bingo! I told them they learned the difference between conservative (real) Republicans and Democrats. Conservatives do not want to be told what to do.

This country was founded by people who did not want govt telling them what to do.

Keep fighting folks. This is not over. Resist!

While I agree with your main point, Summer 2010 is too late for anything but chaos in the election. I’ll believe zero on this one - Fall 2009, right after he signs the nationalized health care bill. 20 million new voters need a few months to register for their first election.
