Liberal bloggers admit conservatives have upper hand on Twitter
CNN Political Ticker ^ | Aug 21, 2009 | Eric Kuhn

"While it is obvious the progressive blogosphere is superior, we are being out-organized on Twitter," said Gina Cooper, a blogger who helped organize Netroots Nation, an annual gathering of online liberal activists that met last week in Pittsburgh. "There is some catching up to do on the progressive side."

Tracy Viselli, who attended Netroots Nation, agreed with Cooper and admitted that liberal bloogers are ceding this valuable territory to conservatives.

"Twitter is a news funnel," she said. "Conservatives are very tightly knit and getting their message out very well."

Netroots Nation out-Twittered. Huh. Maybe they’re too wee weed up at the moment.

It helps when you are organized and have the truth on your side.

Conservatives have had big edge discussing cons of National health care because the negatives are so apparent. The liberals have great difficulty selling the advantages of Obama health without using expletives. ( guess there aren't any advantages to sell )

YES!!!!!

Now if we can catch up on Digg and Reddit, we own it.

If anyone is interested in helping on Digg, there is a daily list. Send your name to Buckeye Texan for the pings.

I’ve pretty much given up with the atheist agenda-driven redditers. I do spend some time on digg, however, and occasionally post there.

Blogs are so 2004 though so that isn’t saying much! :)

I’ve been able to exchange a few tweets with an AP reporter / writer - I get the sense that he sees thru obama and in some of his recent articles he makes a point of also quoting key conservatives as rebuttal to obama

"Twitter is a news funnel," she said. "Conservatives are very tightly knit and getting their message out very well."

To quote our Lieber Führer, Twitter is Wee-Wee.

I opened an account and don't really know why I've kept it. I find it's utterly useless.
And if it's "a news funnel", then I'm the man in the moon.

I’m about with you. Except for PJ-Comix, and Purrcival here on FR, I hadn’t followers until my congresscritter wanted to follow today. Heck, I’d only had one tweet posted until today and I’ve been a member for months.

It’s all too short. Can’t say much of anything; not that there’s a lot I want to say anyway. But, I’m keeping it open. Maybe I’ll find some Sarah Palin stuff to follow as I have on Facebook.

Thanks netmilsmom!

FReepers your help on Digg is much needed! Digging articles is just like freeping a poll. All you’re doing is voting for a conservative article. You don’t have to engage the nasty little libtards if you don’t want to. Just vote for the article and come back to FR! For the fearless, you can review the comments on the article and vote for the conservative comments and bury the liberal comments. If you’re feeling extra brave, you should set them straight with some comments of your own.

Happy digging!

Agreed - and many (most) of my tweets are links to articles posted here on FR

I've been on twitter for about 15 days and have approx 250 fellow conservative “followers” only a couple of whom are also FR members

I disagree with those who feel its a waste of time -

IMO especially in the upcoming 2010 and 2012 election cycles the various state and national conservatives / Reps who fail to make a robust network via twitter for rapid communication to supporters will not succeed as well as they otherwise might (given the rapid news cycle)

Twitter / tweets not about “expounding” of ones personal views with 140 characters -- but rather making certain that all conservatives are rapidly aware of and share links to latest set of news events - helping to create a buzz that makes it onto Fox News within a matter of a few hours

Try www.twitlonger.com for tweets with more than 140 characters.
