CHILMARK, Mass. – President Barack Obama played tennis with his wife and golf with his buddies Monday, starting his first vacation in office on Martha's Vineyard, a picturesque island known as a refuge for the wealthy and privileged.
Obama began the day with a workout at his rented retreat, then tennis with Michelle Obama, White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters traveling with the president. Obama later played golf with UBS Investment Bank President Robert Wolf and Chicago physician Eric Whitaker, both friends. White House aide Marvin Nicholson was also in the foursome.
White House officials have stressed that the president is on a private vacation and very little is planned. But the White House continued governing at full pace and with tremendous interest for All Things Obama, officials have trickled out a few personal details here and there.

All I can think of is how much W was scorned every time he played golf or went on vacation. At least he owned his ranch and his family owned the compound in Kennybunkport so we didn’t have to front money for his vacation rentals.

First lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, have accompanied the president on jaunts overseas, but they have mostly kept their own schedule on those trips, taking in the sights and sounds of Europe while the president attended events and meetings.
Except for a few weekends at Camp David, and quick trips to Chicago and New York City, the president has stayed close to the White House so next week could be a true vacation, a break from policy and politics, if world events cooperate with his vacation plan.
Golf? How is that any different from his regular schedule?
I want to see a Part 2 ot the movie.. Mel owes us that for watching his movies over the years. ;-)
