Obama, the Mortal (Krauthammer nails it again)
Washington Post ^ | 9-5-2009 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 09/05/2009 8:34:06 AM PDT by Sequoyah101

What happened to President Obama? His wax wings having melted, he is the man who fell to earth. What happened to bring his popularity down further than that of any new president in polling history save Gerald Ford (post-Nixon pardon)?

....

Let's be clear: This is a fall, not a collapse. He's not been repudiated or even defeated. He will likely regroup and pass some version of health insurance reform that will restore some of his clout and popularity.

Most of us think it and get it right ...Krauthammer writes it and encapsulates it.

I doubt that -- unless he comes up with a VERY different reform plan, and that is unlikely. He is unpopular because he might get his awful plan, not because he can't get it passed.

He is unpopular because he is being exposed daily via the people and programs he has and is trying to install. The very intrusive big govt role he wants and his attitude, plus race bating, have eroded areas of support.

Neither side wants to compromise on a public option. He’s damned by the right if he does and damned by the left if he doesn’t. Since he’s never going to be popular on the right...the only way any of his clout and popularity can be restored among the left, is if he can get a public option passed.

Only in CK’s mind would the drop in Zero’s ratings be just a blip. he still is hanging on to his elitist opinions.
Charles, my man, Americans are figuring out just WHO Zero is, and they don’t like it, period.

That’s true.

But the very first thing he has to do to earn my trust, or at least to start to earn my trust, is to publish his long-form birth certificate and other background records to “PROVE” he has met the requirements of the U.S. Constitution.

After that, he must do what he said he would do when it comes to his Health Care proposal: Allow for public participation and discourse, be transparent, and gain the support of the people before giving it to Congress for their bipartisan approval.

I agree. More & more, people are finding out, or opening up their eyes, to his radical agendas, & his radical czars. His intrusive govt, yes...but also the bullying thats going on with it. Even a dim, with a few brain cells left over, can clearly see that harrassing people who are in opposition is not right! The exposing of the czar sidekicks he surrounds himself with, are finally showing the people WHO this imposter potus really is, & his ideology.

Van Jones in his own words speaks for Barack Hussein Obama. Both of them are angry black men who are racist white-haters! Obama chose Rev. Wright and Van Jones because they all think alike!!!!!!!!

I like Charles K, but he's wrong on this one. Obama may or may not get his ratings back, but if so it will have nothing to do with health care. The people are on to him and don't like what they see. For example, my brother is a dem, lives in a liberal state, but he's not at all pleased with Obama's health plan. He fears he will lose the good one he has now. In fact, it's turned him off completely to Obama. It's happening all over the country, and unless Obama can pull it together by responding aggressively to some sort of real (or contrived) disaster, he will never again regain his media-created popularity.

But what has occurred -- irreversibly -- is this: He's become ordinary. The spell is broken. The charismatic conjurer of 2008 has shed his magic.

I'll be seeing some democrats tomorrow, and I'll find out if they still like obama. These people lead conservative lifestyles; yet they voted for obama.

I see in the comments much “dark optimism” that “our protests will force him to stop.” Remember that if three hundred million protest, but 218 House Reps, 50 Senators, and “good old Joe” Biden kiss his ring, Obummer can pass everything he wants — and legal means will NOT undo it!

Agreed.

PS...

Foxnews.com has an image of the books from Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin and Dick Morris overshadowing Obama.

Or make him even more reviled for the duplicitous marxist creep that he is.
