Did President Obama Lie?

Well, did he?

I heard a figure for the number of speeches Obama has given since elected. The number was a little hard to believe but after some checking, I believe the number is close. CBS reported that President Obama delivered his 200th speech since taking office when Obama announced his nomination for U.S. Surgeon General on July 13, 2009. At a later date, a blog site posted the number of speeches and remarks as 262. The addition of the word “remarks” detracts somewhat from the information I was seeking but worthwhile nothing nonetheless. The 262 number may include Obama’s speeches before and after his election.

In any case, this quote from a wise Indian Chief comes to mind. It does not require many words to speak the truth. Chief Joseph (Hinmaton, Yalatkit) Nez Perce-(Nimiputimt) (???-1905).

This next observation applies to all politicians; Political language ... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”

President Obama was quite clear when he stated in his September 9, 2009 address to Congress, There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.

At this point in the President’s speech Joe Wilson, a South Carolina Republican member of Congress shouted the words, “you lie”. Later that same evening Congressman Wilson apologized to President Obama and the President accepted his apology. However, it begs the question, what moved Congressman Wilson to emote such a rude outburst?

In any case, I would suggest that the socialist, liberals, and democrats who are still experiencing distress over Joe Wilson’s words demand that he prove his assertion that Obama lied. The search for that answer should either satisfy or silence the liberals.

Another cogent question that relates to this issue ask if HR3200 does not apply to those who are here legally what will provide for their health care needs?

We already pay for illegal aliens healthcare.
Unless his plan says proof of citizenship is required then illegals will be covered under his plan.

DENVER—Former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo says South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson was correct when he accused President Barack Obama of lying about health benefits for illegal immigrants.
Tancredo says Wilson shouldn’t have apologized for shouting “You lie!” when Obama told Congress his health care proposals wouldn’t help illegal immigrants.

Both Wilson and Tancredo are Republicans. Tancredo says Democrats defeated GOP language that would have required the government to verify the immigration status of anyone getting benefits under the health care plan.

“Obama is a liar,” Tancredo said in a written statement.

When Tancredo ran for president in 2007, he ran television ads linking lax border security to terrorist attacks, rape and other crimes.

I’d answer YES through his teeth. The “plan” he speaks of is a figment of his imagination and the bills we have in the house and congress do everything he denies they do. It is not our side that is lying, it is him and his minions. It’s just too bad that people rely on what they are told rather than checking out the truth for themselves.
