ACORN Sprouts HUNDREDS of Trees
No Quarter ^ | October 14, 2008 | Larry Johnson

ACORN has erected an elaborate web of front organizations that allow it to hide its influence and reach. I did a quick search of the internet using the New Orleans address of ACORN. Guess what I found? Almost three hundred organizations connected to ACORN. Well, I would like you to look at the following list of ACORN related organizations that share the same address as ACORN. TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY FOUR names. Got that?

This is a tangled web that defies the ability of any one person or organization to figure out who is working for whom. Carnival workers use three cups on a table to trick the public into guessing where they hid the pea. Here ACORN has 290 plus “cups” to use to hide their financial and organizational shenanigans.

Just imagine...your congress person believes that he should take money from you (taxes) to pay for all this crap.

ACORN has access to $8 BILLION of your tax dollars in the stimulus package.

Call your senator and representative and ask him/her their position on this subject.

Also:

Tell them that you've heard that a czar will be replacing him and would he please be kind enough to send the name of that czar and his address.

I have no doubt that the WH ran Van Jones off before it could be discovered that his help in writing the Cap&Tax bill designated now 85% of the revenues to be collected in this ‘regulation of carbon output’ to Van JOnes and other front orgs not just GE cancerous tentacles.

STEPHEN BRADBERRY: Director of New Orleans ACORN

Stephen Bradberry and UN Delegation on Extreme Poverty expert Dr. Arjun Sengupta to discuss international law and the rights of hurricane survivors from New Orleans.

Bradberry: "“The people of New Orleans want to come home and rebuild their communities...International law—specifically the ‘UN Guidelines on Internal Displacement’—says that the city’s dislocated residents have a right to return, and to have a voice in the recovery process. But under current policies, these rights are not being respected.”

You can start with the C-Span video of Harry Reid thanking Apollo Alliance for their help in fashioning the bill he had just gotten through committee and votes to send to reconcilliation with the House version.

New Orleans, huh. Isn’t New Orleans that place where blacks still whine and moan about not getting help for that hurricane several years back? Isn’t that the place where all the shifty business took place before, during, and after that hurricane took place? Coincidence?

Who is ACORN?

ACORN is a non-profit, non-partisan social justice organization with national headquarters in New York, New Orleans and Washington, D.C.

ACORN is the nation’s largest grassroots community organization of low- and moderate-income people with over 400,000 member families organized into more than 1,200 neighborhood chapters in 110 cities across the country.

ACORN and Obama together making a joke out of the term 'non-partisan'

Check out the way ACORN helped Obama win his election in 2006, and especially these excerpts to links on the communications strategies of ACORN and much of the Left.

Then scratch your head and ask yourself if this is what non-partisanship is suppose to be about. Obviously, Conservatives and Republicans have a lot to learn from the left on how to "build a next generation communication strategy to compete in the media today."

Hyscience

Look at the contacts on this list. That's a very small list, ACORN heavy, of organizations that work with SPIN. While ACORN tops the list, they work with almost every group on the far Left.

SPIN seems to be something of a communications hub for the Left - a list of clients - and an outline of how they helped the Left exploit Katrina.

And whose speech do they use as part of their training manual / tool kit - Barack Obama's of course.

ACORN founder Wade Rathke also founded the huge public sector union, the SEIU (Service Employees International Union), which also happens to funnel funds to ACORN. Other ACORN affiliates, like the American Institute for Social Justice, also send millions directly to its parent.

Worse, ACORN is competing for $8 billion in Stimulus dough, thanks to President Obama.

So where does the money go? Fox News traced the money to a single, small funeral parlor in New Orleans on Elysian Fields Avenue. It appears to be a bank for ACORN and as many as 268 of its far-left affiliates.

And some of its affiliates — like "The ACORN Institute" — are 501(c)(3) organizations.

To maintain its tax-exempt status, various arms of ACORN purport to be a non-partisan, community support organizations. These are laughable propositions, to be sure, but thus far have resisted attempts to puncture their complex corporate veils.

But Mitchell Blatt may have found a damning piece of evidence that destroys ACORN's claims of non-partisanship. It's an internal ACORN memo — dated January 26, 2004 — that spells out explicit gerrymandering strategies to benefit Democrats.

This is a long-term, multi-faceted project with the following goals:

a) Impact the post-2010 Congressional redistricting process by building progressive electoral majorities in swing state legislative districts in states where partisan control of legislative bodies is potentially in play.

b) Organize in 10 – 20 selected Congressional Districts where recent close elections and/or demographic shifts make them likely swing districts.

The strategy here is to build the long-term, targeted organizing and electoral capacity needed if we are to have a Congress with a progressive majority. The redistricting process is key, since it is unlikely that there are enough competitive House districts to end right-wing control of the House of Representative before 2012. But we need to start now.

The first step is to review the literature analyzing the redistricting process state-by-state, determine which states' re-districting processes are in the hands of state legislatures (most), which state legislative bodies have a close enough Democrat-Republican ratio to be in play, and which state house and state senate districts in those states are competitive. With this information, one can then target appropriate legislative districts. We have identified an organizer with previous experience with 21st Century Democrats and the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee who we would like to hire to develop this targeting plan.

In other words, ACORN plotted a national campaign to benefit a Democrat Party takeover of Congress, explicitly naming the Democrats as beneficiaries of their "largesse".

Sounds non-partisan, eh?

I would assume so. I think they identified over 300 by now. Incredible. Listing them (for research also) gives one an eye for the magnitude of their "non-partisan" enterprise. I will look more at your report when I get time.

I was most interested in the fact that its conclusions supported bringing RICO charges against ACORN because John Conyers is on record saying he was calling for an investigation but later said that the "powers that be" stopped him.

Also, thank you for posting that doc.

ACORN Fraud Map here

Rep. Michelle Bachmann's Petition to Stop ACORN from Accessing Taxpayer Dollars here

Michelle Malkin has a "Sign the ACORN Petition" post with comments by Washington Examiner's Kevin Mooney:

Thousands of Americans are expressing support via an on-line petition for new legislation that would block taxpayer funding for organizations with a criminal history such as the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN).

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) has introduced the Taxpayer Protection and Anti-Fraud Act, which would restrict access to taxpayer dollars available through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for groups that have been indicted for violations of state or federal laws. Almost 5,000 citizens have registered their support for the bill available through Bachmann’s online site, according to her press office.

As The Examiner has previously reported ACORN has received at least $53 million in federal funds since 1994, and the controversial group [ACORN] could potentially gain access to $8.5 billion in additional taxpayer dollars, unless Congress intervenes. The track record is not encouraging.

…“No one has a right to federal funds,” she said. “We have a fiduciary responsibility as members of Congress to establish criteria by which groups can gain access to federal dollars. I believe we should be able to raise the bar above indictment and not be restricted solely to convictions. This in no way denies someone their due process rights in court.”

Under her new bill a determination would be made on a “case by case” basis to determine whether or not a particular organization should be eligible for federal support, despite indictments.

http://michellemalkin.com/2009/06/05/sign-the-acorn-petition/ =======

Kevin Mooney mentions 5000 signatures so far on the petition (6/5/2009). When I just checked, there were now over 58,000 signatures.

Question to Self: Could that be another reason why Barney Frank wants a cabinet post as HUD Secretary?

My comment to mojitojoe on another ACORN thread (by conimbricenses) that establishes Obama relationship with ACORN back to early 90's.

It has become a DNC-protected criminal enterprise. Someone needs to ask John Conyers for the NAMES of the "POWERS THAT BE" that stopped him from establishing the ACORN investigation that he publicly stated was necessary.

Proof: Obama worked for ACORN-affiliated voter registration group in 1992 multiple news sources 1982-1994

ACORN has changed its name to Community Organizations International (COI).
Tomorrow it will just go on with business as usual.
