Hard to believe he was 66 years old. I thought perhaps he was younger. Still too young to die.

As bad as President Peanut was, I always liked Jody Powell. He had a good skill set for being a Press Secretary, plus some charm and was honest. May he RIP.

was he the one who splashed amaretto into Jehan Sadat’s
cleavage while making a crack about the ‘pyramids of Egypt’?

Considering what a loser Carter was, I thought Jody Powell was a decent guy. And Obama’s press secretary makes him look absolutely splendid, in comparison.
May he rest in peace.

While in College, a few years back...I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Powell. We were there to interview him for our college paper, other colleges from Illinois were also represented.
He treated us well, was gracious and thoughtful.

I always liked the guy. Perhaps sympathy for his having to be Carter’s mouthpiece.

He was the best of the Carter crowd, and of course, that’s not saying much. But he was a good, decent guy with that ever present friendly smile and affable demeanor. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones.
I would leave it at that, but I can’t help but wonder what he would be doing hanging out with the likes of that former LA Times political correspondent, and arch-leftist, Jack Nelson? I would rate Nelson as one of the most dishonest reporters, right up there with Duranty and DanRather.

I certainly didn’t agree with him, but he seemed like a decent guy.
