But, here's the delicious irony - the very same Obama who announced to the world that America's era of arrogance was over (and has apologized repeatedly around the world for it) allowed his OWN arrogance to KILL the deal at the Olympic committee meeting. He believed that his mere presence would be more than enough to guarantee a Chicago Olympics in 2016!!
The entourage that the zero's unleashed on the Olympic committee did not sway them, it annoyed them to no end. My wife & MIL have relatives in Germany, up near Hamburg in Lübeck - which is pretty close to Denmark, approx 100 miles 'as the crow flies'. After the vote was announced my MIL here in Chicago happened to talk to them. They all said, 'Who is this Oprah person?' Is she someone famous?' I don't know what Oprah said, it was irrelevant. To me and the IOC. Most of the world doesn't know who Oprah is. Too bad the clueless ego driven elitists didn't know that.
